Make sure that there is no power failure during bios update and you have a power back up of atleast 10-15 minutes. Download the update from Dell's website and double click on the .exe program. Wait for program to finish the job.

SOURCE: my dell dimension 8400 bios a03 fails to bootup

You need to reset your bios settings. Open your case and remove the cmos battery for 10 minutes. Caution: unplug all ac plugs before you open your case. put the battery back in and turn it on you should see an error message saying: you need to set system time and date. If you see this then you have successfully reset your bios settings and the defaults should load up. follow the instructions to change your time and date settings and save. reboot and hopefully you can boot up. I hope this works.

How to Downgrade BIOS from A06 to A04

I spent a few hours researching how to do this. It was not easy and I had a few false starts.
Aside from downloading the patch and making a DOS boot disk from a USB drive, there are a few pitfalls you want to avoid. They are all documented in this blogpost. Enjoy!

Bij doorstarten moet ik steeds f1 indrukken en bij het afsluiten krijg ik een blauw scherm met de tekst Hardware malfuction call your hardware vendor for support NMI:parity check/memery parity...

NMI parity error (Non-maskable Interrupt) is generally a motherboard or a RAM issue.
You can try flashing the BIOS to A04 (You'll need to copy the flash executable to a bootable CD or bootable USB drive to run the flash.
Try individual or different RAM modules
if all those do not resolve, issue is most likely the motherboard.

JV AV36890 TV. My young daughter pressed buttons and managed to switch it from channels in the "A" set (ie A02, A03, A04...) to the B set- which has resulted in fuss and noise. Even the menu...

On your remote, push the input button, to change the input back to A. If that don't work, then unplug your set from the wall for 40min, and that will reset it back to normal.

Sudden power off of Dell Studio 1558

Check the BIOS for PC Health settings. It is possible that you have put a low value for "Critical Temperature", which makes the Laptop to turn off.

Can't Do Anything... NEED HELP!!!

"Alert previous attempt at booting the system has failed at checkpoint emem {EMem}."
This is a No Post issue and if youre going to check the quadpack it will show yygg which indicates memory failure.
Quick Step : Reseat memory
If cust has more than 1 memory, test each memory on each slots until you find the memory that’s causing the error message and send a replacement for the faulty memory.
