My laptop won't start up normally. The fans and everything begin to turn and start when I press the power button, but within seconds, they start to slow down and eventually stop.

You did not post anything about make and model. This is kind of a guess.

My laptop has "battery saving" setting that operate the fan based on temperature. When I start up, the fan comes on and the computer checks itself, Then the fan slows down. Later when the laptop warms up, the fan speeds up. See if you have some power management scheme set that makes the fan run like this before you take it to the shop.

Your laptop should be under warranty.

I have a emachine that powers ou, power pack fan, cpu fan but not the hardrive. It shut down and now won't start up. No beeps

Unplug from AC, open the case, clean if necessary, reseat the memory mods, use Electronic Contact Cleaner spray on contacts, plug in, push the on/off button. Does it begin to start, and in a few seconds completly shuts down? No LED's , no fans, nothing? Sounds like a PSU failure. Mine went out in 6 years.

Laptop wont start.

Remove the battery and unplug the power cord for 5 minutes, put in the either the battery or the powercord and power on.

if it doesn't power on, make sure the charging light is lit on the front of the laptop when the power adapter is inserted and plugged in properly.

light blinking when you power on means battery low / no power.

If the problem doesn't go away you need to contact acer for warranty service if you are outside warranty contact a local repairer.

I have an LG laptop model LGT1. it doesn't start up windows. the computer is on electricity is ok but nothing on the monitor. i tried an external monitor, and it also didn't tern on. the fan starts...

First, I would recommend you bring the laptop in a well-lit room, try to power it on, look closely at the screen and tilt it back and forth. You may see a dark image of what you're supposed to see, and, if so, that means your laptop's back light is out. If you still see nothing, try to attach the external monitor and power cycle the laptop a few times and try to hit the LCD/CRT button, which is usually (Fn + F4). If you still can't get any display, there is likely something wrong with the laptop's motherboard, which is often an expensive repair. It is usually more sensible just to replace the laptop than attempt to have it repaired.

My computer turns on, the green light is on and the orange light is blinking but screen doesn't show anything

I may be in low-power mode. Try jiggling the mouse, pushing enter on the keyboard a couple times and just pushing the power button once.

If none of those work push and HOLD down the power button for about 10 seconds and the computer should shut off.

As an absolute last resort pull the power plug, leave it out a few seconds then plug it back in and power it on.

One of these methods should at least get the screen back up.

My compaq presario laptop keeps getting an error: 0211 keyboard error it says press F1 to resume or F10 to setup but neither one of them does anything when I push them. Can this be fixed?

Hi,

1. Turn off computer and unplug power cord.
2. Disconnect all external devices(open up the computer tower and then )
3. remove battery
4. press power button and hold for 10-15 seconds
5. plug power cord back into computer and press power button.
6. Check LED’s and listen for power supply fan.
7. If LED’s are on or power supply fan starts spinning, watch for boot screen
8. If coputer begins to turn on, turn it off.
9. Reconnect battery and external devices.
10. Press power button and make sure computer starts.

This should work....all the best

Push Power button, green light goes on for a few seconds then nothing....

I would suggest taking a look at the power module if that can be replaced. The Fuse blowing may have only been the beginning of the problem. Any recent issues with under or over voltage in your home?
