Once again, have you attempted to reset the CMOS? If you have and this system is still not working the motherboard may be dead or the power-supply blew taking some if not all attached components with it.

Either the motherboard is still using onboard video (if it ever had it), the power-supply blew (taking some if not all components with it), or you need to reset the CMOS.

Check to see if you have onboard video, if you do, try hooking up a monitor to that port to see if it works.

If you don't have onboard video, stick in a video card, try to boot. Yes, it won't work (it hasn't been, right?). However, after shutting down remove the CMOS battery and leave it out for about 24 hours (1 day). After the time is up, insert the battery again and see if the system will boot.

Wow, 18 video cards? Now THAT is dedication. Have you replaced any/all of the RAM? Perhaps moved the RAM to different slots on the board? I can't imagine the video card is the problem after trying that many video cards.

SOURCE: ABIT IP35V, LONG and Continues Beep when There is a Geforce GT8800 video card installed.

Beep by motherboard are due to hardware problems. It's either the hardware is problem or it's not properly connected. Try check your RAM or graphic card weather it is fix properly. And also try to check your jumper connector. Sometimes one of the jumper connector may be damage and create the beep sound.

SOURCE: what is the maximum size of hdd to used with abit kv7

Good day sir/maam, yes you can use a 1 TB HDD, get the SATA version depending on the bios but im not sure it be compatible with SATA1 on your motherboard, any new hard disk canor cant be read by any old motherboard, you may have problems with SATA versions, there are 3 versions, but the problem is the response of the hard disk. The rule of thumb, fast motherboards, for large hard disk, because it can access large amount of data very fast usually they are SATA3. So slow motherboards with large hard disk is kinda slow, you be bored. I suggest you stick on the recommended hard disk. If you want extra storage, get 3 hard disk and daisy chained them as master/slave.

SOURCE: I need to replace my Abit KV7-V motherboard what

If your going to replace or upgrade your motherboard, consider this following things:

1. Central Processing Unit(CPU) - Make sure that it can be use to the new motherboard or the motherboard supports your old cpu. If it is an Intel processor, get a motherboard that supports Intel processor or if AMD then get a motherboard that support AMD processors.

2. Memory Card - Make sure that it can also be usable to the new motherboard. If it is DDR then get a motherboard that supports DDR Memory Module or if it is DDR II then get a motheboard that supports it.

3. Video Card(if you have it aside from the onboard video device) - Make sure if you have a AGP Video card or PCI E video card it can be usable to the new motherboard.

Get a new motherboard that support all the stated hardware above.

Hope this could be valuable information for you..:-) Thanks..

Abit kv7 hangs at memory speed

Go into the bios and use the "set bios to default" option
There is another that is used for more speed orientated setting but at this point fo not use it.

Also check the memory settings them selves and set them for auto where possible

If you mean that it hangs when counting the memory then try the ESC key as it is booting to get past the memory check and then use DEL to get into bios
