Your point n shoot camera has an ISO adjustment in the menu. Be sure that is set to no more than 400 indoors and no more than 100 outdoors.

If it has something called exposure Value or Ev, set that to zero.

Or, if you really want to see if the camera is not working properly, set it to the green auto mode and take a picture. If in auto mode, it still comes out over-exposed there is probably a problem with the camera.

My Z1275 has developed intermittent horizontal lines on the view screen when the camera is moved, and on images some times. Get good images if I use tripod and shutter delay. Looks like loose connecti

When having bright lights on a dark background, you can have horizontal lines. That is supposed to be normal. but the camera should give good pictures in bright light. Try setting the camera in automatic. most of the time it is the green camera loge on the mail dial.

When i take a picture they all seem 2 come out really bright.mostly white looking rather than a normal colour

Check the exposure compensation on your camera. This is often shown with an "EV" and then a number such as "+1" or "-0.5". If you are getting overly bright images, then you likely have the EV set to +1 or more. This causes the camera to overexpose the image by +1 stops of light, making things whiter.
Without specific camera name and models, I cannot give you the exact steps to solve this, however on most DSLR cameras, you simply hold down a button on the body while rotating a dial on the body. Usually the button looks something like this: http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/K100D/ZPOWERSWITCH.JPG In the above image, the button below the shutter release with the +/- symbol is the EV button. Simply hold that while rotating a dial on the body until "EV 0.0" shows up in your viewfinder or in live view.

Our side monitorr on camera model Panasonic nv-dx100 is shows mirror image. we already tried to change at menu option, but it still the same. But if we look at the focus view, its normal. How to change...

The mirror image is used for shooting yourself so it looks right and is only adjustqable through the menu system.
If you cannot sort it out through the menu try the RE-SET button on the caqmera.
Refer to your camera manual for instructions on where to find it and reset.

When I look through the view finder window. Everything that I see is out of focus...even the little numbers at the bottom. The pictures come out fine in Auto focus, but in any other mode, I can not tell...

Okay looking at the back of the camera where the viewfinder eye piece is right side upper corner you will see a small wheel partially covered by the rubber rim of the viewfinder by the side of it you will see a small line with a + and - that is a diopter that actually tunes the camera viewfinder to your shooting eye. Pretty fancy eh? Anyway what I do is set the camera in auto focus and focus on an object in a brightly lit room and when the little green light come on in the lower right corner of the viewfinder which is the auto focus confirmation light start turning this wheel one way and another until the image you see come into sharp focus. I don't know about you but I need about three clicks to the + side before everything looks sharp.

Dropped Nikon Camera Sadness

Hi Al
not sure if i can help here but will try.
Ive not owned the D50 but i have the feeling the highlights function is similar to other cameras in the Nikon range.

On your cursor when viewing an image, just press down on the cursor maybe once or twice to remove the highlights .This is just a pointer for you like the histogram.

Now it seems like you may have damaged the sensor and will not collect enough light.

Try setting the camera to A = aperture priority and take a shot in bright light...no flash.

Are the images still dark ?

If so raise your iso to 800 and shutter speed to 1/250 at F5.6 aperture in mode S =shutter priority and take the shot in bright conditions.

Are the shots still dark ?

New Camera, no picture on screen

This is normal for this camera. Think about it. The CMOS chip can't see through the mirror. After the shot is taken the electronic shutter exposes the CMOS chip and makes an image just like exposing film on a film type camera. Once you get used to it you may like it better. In outdoor or bright light situations it's difficult to view the LCD screen to frame the shot anyway.

White balance

white balance usually refers to color not brightness. a good way to test your white balance though is to take a sheet of paper and zoom in on it. if it's white, than the white balance isn't the issue. it's most likely lens aperture, though I dont have a clue how to change that on that model camera. if nothing else you at least know what to look for now. sorry i can't be more help. good luck
