If you are not able to change your windows wallpaper in win 7 , it means you are using Win 7 starter pack or home basic . Sorry to say but the truth is there is no such option in Win 7 Starter Pack or Home Basic to change your wallpaper . But you can use third party software which is very beautiful and works perfectly fine . Click Here to Download

To change the desktop background:

1. Go to Start>Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Change desktop background.

2. This will bring up picture location : desktop background. You will see boxes next to all the different pictures that you can select as wallpaper.

3. Select the box next to the picture that you want to choose as your wallpaper(this will put a check in it.)

4. If you want the picture to fill the screen, under picture position, select "Fill."

Acer aspire one d260 how change desktop wallpaper

I'm assuming your Aspire One came with Windows 7 Starter. Starter does not allow changing of wallpaper, but there are hacks out there that will allow you to do so.

You must understand that, technically, the EULA (license) for Starter prohibits you from working around this "by design" provision. However, that said, here is the link to a piece of software that will allow you to change the wallpaper. I have seen it used and it works, and it did not have any infections in it. I cannot vouch for the condition of the file at this point in time, however. You're on your own.

I am giving you this information because it is freely available via a Google search.

Hope that's helpful.

Hello there,

How are you changing the Desktop wallpaper? Have you tried opening up an image over the internet and RIGHT click on that image? This will give you a dropdown menu with the "Set as Desktop Background" as an option.

Please let me know how this goes. Thank you for using FixYa.

I cant put a wallpaper

As you have not mentioned the Operating System, let me provide the general information.

But, please do not worry, I'll also provide you the alternate options.

In all the Windows Operating Systems, the Desktop Wallpaper can be changed by using the Display Properties option.

The option to change the Wallpaper is only not available with these Operating Systems:

1) Windows Vista Home basic.
2) Windows 7 Home basic.

However, here's the key.

You may change the Desktop Wallpaper by using any third party Applications.

This also applies to the Windows Vista and Windows 7 Home Basic Operating Systems.

I have mentioned one such Application below:

http://jamesgart.com/wallpaperchanger/WallpaperMasterV2.16.exe

You may download the Wallpaper Changer Application from the below link.

Hope this helps.

Please feel free to ask further questions.

I want to change Hdd volume id through VB6

If this is at all possible, you would have to make use of the Win32API via your VB6 application. I do not believe that capability is built into VB6.
