Hi, My name is Liam from rihac, although we do not sell printers I work very closely with them via our inklink products. The MG6150 uses the older 525/526 series cartridges and ink. You will not be able to reuse the older CISS you have in the new MG7160 without replacing cartridges, chips and ink.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Why does the Ink Cartridges I bought on the 08/01/2015 are not compatible with the printer Canon MG 7160

My advice is, do the only logical step. Send it back with a copy of your original order where you specify the correct cartriges telling them they sent something you never asked for.

No ink on print out from canon mg6150, please help

how much ink is in the ink Cartridges?
have you changed the ink cartridge recently ?
You may need to clean the print head.
see http://www.cityinkexpress.co.uk/cheap-printer-cartridges/canon/pixma-mg6150/mg-series/cleaner/printhead-cleaning-cartridge/yellow

seems to look like it may be a manual procedure with the mg6150 rather than a computer setting in the printer properties. Look under properties to see if there is a computer generated head clean .

Error 6C10 continuelly appears even after shutting down and restarting on my Canon MG6150

This error refers to the purge unit valve sensor. It is possible that some paper has jammed on the surface of the purge unit. Turn the machine on and when you hear the motor start up, pull the power lead out. If you are lucky after opening the main covers you will see the carriage parked near the right end of its travel. You should be able to slide the carriage to the left and look into the purge unit. Shine a torch in there and remove any foreign object that you see. If still no luck then a new purge unit is required and a trained canon engineer will be needed to fit it.
Good luck

Can i print onto Transparency film from my Canon MG 6150 as there is no setting for transparencies, what paper setting would i use

Try the setting for glossy photo media. You want a minimum of ink. Also use the transparency media intended for ink jet AND observe the correct side to be printed on.

I have a Pixma MG6150 Multifunction device. PC is sadly running Vista SP2. Trying to set it up wirelessly. Software installed perfectly on a Windows 7 pc but on this laptop it returns an error message...

Try this,
1) Go to Start/Settings/Printers and Faxes
2) Right click the "Pixma MG6150 Printer" and choose property
3) Go to the Ports page (From the top menu), and assigned to port FILE: it should be assigned to a Canon Pixma MG6150 Network port
4) Click button, and select "Canon Pixma MG6150" type, and then new port
5) The "Canon Pixma MG6150" printer will be associated with this new port, automatically
6) Click OK

Hope it can help & good luck.
