Is this alarm part of the original car or an add on? Some alarms have different zones that can be activated or deactivated depending on the preference of the owner. If it is aftermarket you will need the manual to execute a sequence to arm or unarm the motion detector zone. The motion detector could be faulty and the alarm is isolating that zone. Look under the steering column you will see a panel held in place with screws remove that panel . That is about the only place with enough space to house the alarm system. It maybe somewhere else but I don't think so.
Huh? Pressing the lock button arms the alarm AND locks the doors. Pressing the unlock button disarms the alarm AND unlocks the doors. If this is not happening either there is an issue with the wiring from the alarm to the car or, with the vehicle's door locks.
Doesn't by opening the hood, that will disarm the alert system? Is it factory installed system? Try removing the fuse for the alarm system (near the system box - probably around the brake light switch). There must be a crossed wire somewhere.
enter the DURESS code. This will send an emergency police panic / Hold-Up signal to the central station, but will also remove the system from the alarm or armed state. Ask a friend or neighbor or relative who has an alarm for their "hold-up" or "panic" or "Duress" code (they all mean the same thing) since most are the same (or in reverse). But it would be unlawful for me to disclose that information in a public venue... Good luck!
