Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Can I use a powerline to project something on a projector from my compter?

They'll both be on the same circuit, but will the projector recognize the signal and display the correct image?

ok. here's the deal. we are setting up a projector in our church. we do not want to run a VGA or DVI cable through the existing walls. I was told to use the Netgear Powerline 100 to solve this issue without using a wireless transmitter/receiver. We verified that the Receptacle where the projector is going to be is on the same circuit as where the computer is going to be. I have a vga to cat5 adapter connected to my computer. from there, the cat5 connects to the Netgear Powerline. the signal will then run through the electrical wire. the Projector on the ceiling has a vga to cat5 adapter as well and is connected to the Netgear Powerline with the cat5. My question then, is: will the projector be able to interpret the signal coming from the computer the the electrical wire and then project the computer image this way?

I'm having trouble getting my monitor to recognize my laptop when I hook them up. I tried going to my desktop, then adding a device or projector, then adding the monitor but the tv still won't...

What you'll need to do is set your TV to whatever input you're using on the laptop (VGA or HDMI). Then go into Display Properties, which can be found in Control Panel. Select the grayed out 2nd display and check "Extend desktop onto this monitor". Slide the resolution to something your TV can support such as 1366x768 or 1920x1080. Apply, OK, OK and you're done. The exact steps that you'll need is slightly different than the instructions here because of variation in TVs and OSes, but it's mostly identical.

My projector won't project anything. the computer recognizes the projector, but the projector does not recognize the computer. also when i turn on the projector the benq logo doesn't show.

Disconnect all inputs to the BENQ and power on. Do the lights come on as per normal operation. Does the lamp come on when the power button is pressed. Does anything show when the menu is selected.

I have tried the fn f8 keys and still if it is showing on the projecter its not on the compter, and visa versa thanks

Usually you have to hit the F8 key 2 or 3 times in a row to see it change sequentially. The first time you hit F8 it will go to projector 2nd time you hit F8 it will display both on computer and Projector, Then you hit F8 a 3rd time and it will toggle it back to just the projector again. Good Luck and have a good day...HDTV GURU JAY.
