This is usually caused by the oil getting warmer, or cooler when you turn the thermostat up, or down.

Have a 1 year old Delonghi oil heater and has starting to make loud crackling noises when hearing up for about 5 mins.

The sound you are hearing is the metal and the oil inside expanding. When you heat metals they expand. When it cools it shrinks. I would imagine that when you turn this off it is also making these noises but you are not there to hear them like you are when you turn it on.

My delonghi oil heater is very noisy whilst hearing up

This is perfectly normal as the oil gets thicker the colder it is and over a period of time it's viscosity changes.Once the temperature gets above a certain point the oil will melt and the heat will flow through more freely so the popping/crackling stops.

Why is the plug making a noise when the radiator is on

There will be a loose connection in either the plug or the socket. I would strongly recommend you stop using the appliance, as there is a risk of fire. You should have both the plug and socket replaced with quality parts by a qualified electrician.

I was wondering if it was normal to hear "crackling" noises coming from the unit after plugging it in for the first time since last winter?

Depends, it could just be the heater warming up and expanding or it could be an electrical crackling from something shorting out which is not good and it should probably be replaced.

Need an instruction manual for DeLonghi Magnum MG15T

I found the manual at this website:
http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/DELONGHI/MG15T-_M

Here was the tricky part for me:
The round timer dial has red tabs on the outer edge of it. They all should be pushed inward to allow continuous operation.

From the manual:

Please note when you first use your heater, all the tabs are outwards. You must push in those
tabs for the period that you want the heater to work. (If you want to bypass the timer you must
push all 96 tabs inward).

I hope this helps.
