You indicated that the camera will not connect with the computer. Where do you get the camera connection error. Have you checked if the device is already properly installed in the device manager?
Click start right click on my computer then go to properties.
Go to the hardware tab then device manger
If you see something with a question mark or exclamation point. Right click it then click on update driver. Select install automatically but before you do this make sure the installation CD is in the drive
I haven't seen a physical button on any laptop. Just open whatever software you have the use's a camera and it should start working automatically. Open your IM software or what ever other software you have. Usually when you buy a camera it comes with some install program and features. Look for something new in your programs list. If you have any software that has chatting function open it and look in settings or options, look for video, open or select it, and choose your camera. every program that uses a camera to video chat has a setup or test that you need to complete before you can use it. You may want to check and confirm its installed. Select control panel, device manger, and look in the tab for you camera. Possibly under Imaging devices, or USB controller. Confirm when you double click it that it says :"This Device is Working Correctly" Logitech cameras that set on top your monitor or LCD have a button on the camera itself that you can press and it will start their software to load and open. Other brands may do the same thing.
then you will see a screen containing some menu such as "Start Task Manger", "Switch User" etc.... if u have ur account password protected... then select "Switch user"...Enter password and press enter..
First clue helped me understand that the green light wont turn on, which clearly says that there is no power supply for the webcam.
second thing i would like you to try is. *please check for loose connectivity issue. *please check of the port in the computer( where you plug in the cable) or the connector pin is damaged, broken or loose. *then please check of the driver is installed in the DEVICE MANAGER.
How to get into DEVICE MANGER: *please click START> RUN.. type in "devmgmt.msc" and click OK. *then the device manger will open. there you can see drivers for keyboards and all hardware components. please look out for "imaging devices". if you expand it.... you will find the webcam driver.
** if there is any exclamation, question or X mark on it. please let me know. there might be some problem in the driver installation. ** also please let me know the operating system and please check if you installed the webcam software.
please let me know if you need more help. Thank you:)

fist of all if it is saying that it is trying to install the video controller and u need to check the very first thing is that u the display of ur computer is fine or not and if it is fine then dont worry about this popup and then u need to right click on my computer and then click on manage and then device manger and then click on device maanger and then check for the video controller option and check it out if there is any red x or is there any yellow exclamation mark on it and if it is click on top of the page that says install or something like that it says scan for hardware changes and then it sould be ok and then restart ur computer, and now the computer should be ok u will not get any popup or what u can do is u can do the msocnfig, click start>run>type msconfig>click services>click hide all microsoft>click start up>click on disable all>click apply>click close.....restart the computer and it will be ok.....good luck try it out....
