Question about Computers & Internet
The folks over at WD said:
There are no downloadable USB, Firewire, or eSATA drivers available. WD external drives install using the resident USB and Firewire drivers that come in Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2, Vista, and Mac 10.4 and 10.5. If the drivers are not installing when you connect the WD drive, or you are having driver issues, you will need to contact Microsoft or Apple for their recommendations.
I will search further if you like, just let me know.
Try the old, disconnect (the drive form the computer), reboot, reconnect, reboot once again and see if it picks up the way it was meant to.
Hope this has been of help please leave rating

I tried 3 USB cables and one of them worked. Also, if you plug it into a USB hub it may not recognize it either.
