SOURCE: Audiovox D1020 DVD player won't read DVD anymore

I have the same problem! The only way to fix this is to replace the motor that spins the DVD. if you take it apart and spin the DVD the movie will play. The motor is just wore out and has no torque to start the play process. I am still looking for a replacement motor for it and haven't found anyone that carries the motor required. Only Audiovox so far and they want 180 to send in and fix.

SOURCE: no longer loading dvds

You may have a bad laser. First, make sure the laser assy. travels back and forth easily, then make sure the table the disc sits on spins freely. If it still isn't reading, load a disc and immediatly flip it over to it's top and see if it works. Working or not, still a bad laser.

SOURCE: I have a 7

It may be that the disc you are trying to play is so dirty that it cannot be read. The other problem may be that the laser head is dirty especially with a portable device. Either way the machine cannot read the disc and gives up trying after some time. Careful cleaning shoudl resolve your issue.

Low volume

1)Make sure volume is at maximum level. check down right hand side of your desktop. 2)Make sure speakers(headphones) volume is at maximum. 3) If problem continues check your speaker( connect it to other pc), and headphone as well. 4) If problem continues try reinstalling audio driver.

Hi,

The audiolevel is much to low for a headphone.
You really need to use a headphoneoutput ( if its there) or a headphoneamplifier.
You tried to connect your headphone on line-level outputs.

How can I turn up the volume? We maxed out the

There maybe a mute button on the remote some where, or else its just the case that these portable dvd players have rubbish speakers built in and they are just not loud... I recommend getting a decent pair of amplified computer speakers and plugging them into the headphone socket. That is what i do!
