Question about IBM TravelStar 40GN 40 GB Hard Drive
I have a ThinkPad T30 which had a 40G TravelStar. About a year ago I removed the 40G travelstar and put in a 30G WD intending to maintain the data on the 40G TravelStar. The reason was to use the T30 to help record stats at the Great Florida ShootOut basketball tournament. I never did put the 40G TS back into the T30 until last week. The bad news is I had a Harddrive password on it, a user and a master. Now I want to blow away all data on that 40G Travelstar (which I have done by installing Windows XP Pro) and just use it as a data drive in a 2.5" USB 2.0 enclosure. I have the User hdd password and can now boot up the new Windows XP but I can't get rid of the harddrive password. I thought formatting the drive during the install process of Windows XP Pro would clean it out but it did not. Is there some way I can recover/diable the Master HDP so I can disable the Hard Disk Password during boot up?
