Re: Videos

The Gigbeat plays Windows Media Files. The files have a .wmv extension. Media Player will convert standard .wmv files to a suitable size for playing on the Gigabeat.

There are a couple great programs for converting DVDs:
Slysoft's CloneDVDMobile and

RE: GPX Touchscreen Media Player MT851B My .avi movie files are showing "file format error " before convertion. After i convert the .avi movie files, only the first 15-20 minutes of the movie...

you will need an advanced movie editor or converter that can convert the video from the supported types(even if it is already an .avi file) to: 320x240 resolution, using the xvid mpeg4 codec for video and mpeg layer3 mp3 audio codec. the quality can only be as high as 64 kbps i believe.
the player itself comes with a converter either built-in or on a cd. this converter sucks though and wont sync up the audio to the video very well at all. so i suggest you use a high quality converter so the videos will be watchable.

What videos can it play?

Any videos that are in the proper format.

Download and install the "Sansa Firmware Updater", connect your Fuze, and run the Updater. Besides making sure that your Fuze has the most up-to-date firmware, it'll allow you to download the "Sansa Media Converter", which can convert most videos directly onto your Fuze in a format that it can play.

This will only Play SMV files.
You can download two programs that will convert it for you for free.
One program is Any Video Converter. (free program)
This will convert most things to mpeg the file SMV converter likes.
Then you will need SMV Converter (free program)
After the file is in mpeg form use SMV converter and you got your video and movies that will play on your MP3 player

Videos download but dont show up for play

Not a definite solution, but...
I think you must use some sort of media converter to make all video file types to the same type. the only problem is, im not sure which. you may exclude .avi, mp4, and .mpeg
