Asus x55s notebook pc

Hi I just found a x55s laptop. The problem is when I turn it on the screen stays black but I can hear the laptop kick over, I've already checked the ram cards which seem to be runnin fine. I have also plug the laptop into my flat scrren tv vr hdmi, I have pressed fn+f7 and also fn+f8( wasn't sure which is the right button) and still no picture. I have heard that the problem could be either the graphics card or maybe the motherboard. I'm just wondering how to tell which it would be I have a nvidia geforce 9500 gs graphics card

SOURCE: Is my Motherboard compatible?

Try to find out what the AGP voltage is on the motherboard.
Some graphics cards use 1.5 volts and some use 3.
If it's a 1.5 volt AGP slot and you plug a 3 volt graphics card in, it either wont work or you could permanantly damage both card and motherboard.

SOURCE: nvidia geforce 9500 gt gpu work on asus p5n73-am

Hi!

Nahh...you can use that gpu with that mobo, but i wouldent recomend it. The GPU - Requires NVIDIA HybridPower™- enabled motherboard, and that mobo dosent have that. It might work but you cant use the full power of that gpu on that mobo. And beside that, that gpu is bigger then the mobo itself
I sugest you to buy another mobo, the gpu you looking at is a good one but your mobo isent that good.

Here is the spec for the GPU:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_geforce_9500gt_us.html

And here are the spec for that mobo:
http://shopping.msn.com/specs/asus-p5n73-am-motherboard-micro-atx-geforce-7050/itemid1060345734/?itemtext=itemname:asus-p5n73-am-motherboard-micro-atx-geforce-7050&fulldesc=1

Good luck

May be this some conntact in the motherboard or chip heating because in this notebook the cooling system is not so good.
Or, may it be from adapter because in the jack cable when I mesaure the voltage is about 14,2 V approximatly. And I don't understad why is this voltage when mY adapter is 12V. The cable I put it my self becaus the old one is damaged but adapter is the same.

Big chance that Graphic Card, integrated into motherboard failed. I would suggest to take out Hard Drive and RAM and then try to turn it on. If it still shows nothing - best bet that motherboard gone bad.

Hi - I have an Asus Eee netbook and when i turn it on the screen is black the lights are on and its fully charged but nothing else happnes

sounds like WIN32 trojan. you can swap out memory card (RAM) and if it boots up then that's your problem. Only solution I found is once your system is up (if the memory swap worked) is to copy any vital files to external HDD/USB then reinstall the Operating System.

Computer turns on but screen stays black

This is often caused by the screen lights or screen failing. Try looking at the screen from different angles in different light conditions, you might just be able to see the image.
