Very weird Radio Tuning Problem

Kenwood KDC-MP522 tunes only to FM stations like 98.1 or 98.3 but not 98.2 or even 98.0 !! Is this normal?? If the frequency is an "even" ending I cannot tune into that.. I have the set recently installed and wonder if there is a fix for this?? I am in Europe by the way..

Re: Very weird Radio Tuning Problem

I have a car stereo purchased from the US and I can’t pick up all radio stations in Europe/UK, what can I do?
If you have purchased a car stereo from the US you will find that it will not pick up many European radio stations. This is due to the fact that US radio frequency steps are different to here in Europe.
You may be able to set the tuner to European stations by following this procedure.
Press and hold down the SRC button to power down the unit completely.
While the unit is off press button 1 & 5 together, while momentarily pressing the SRC button.
If this does not work try the following proceedure;
Press and hold buttons 1 and 5 together, while momentarily pressing the reset button.
If this does not work then the unit is not designed to pick up European frequency steps.

Re: Very weird Radio Tuning Problem

This is a USA model and by default in the USA all FM stations end in an Odd number. This is completely normal. you can try holding preset 1 and 5 down while pressing the reset button on the unit and it may allow you to switch to a Europe style of tuning.

Code for my kenwood

It don't work like that. Each individual head unit has a seperate PIN code. Best bet is to get the serial number from your unit. Located on top or back of it, and call Kenwood direct with the serial the serial number, they have all codes on file, they can help. Here are the numbers

Kenwood Australia - 1800 126 659
USA - 1-800-KENWOOD (536-9663

If not either of them, go to their site

Hi, just bought a new car and its got a Kenwood CD player in it. Unfortunately it didn't have any manuals with it. I don't know where to look for the model no. It doesn't have it on the unit itself. ... You can download Kenwood Manuals from their Support Site. Provided it is the KDC-MP 205 try this: Press the SRC (source) button. Select TUNER. To the right and above the SRC button is the JOG wheal. By moving it to the right or left you scan for stations, when you find one that you want to store/save then press on the number of your choice from 1 to 6 and keep the button pressed down for 2 seconds, it might even beep. dreamsystems

Changing tuning frequncy from odd to even No. Kenwood KDC-MP228

Most car stereo (stereos in general) won't tune to even numbers. If you're having problems tuning in your station then you're either too far away or you should take a look at your antenna.

My kenwood 45wx4 is only tuning to the odd number radio station

In generic terms, you need to change the zone or area to Europe (probably from US).
Typically this is done via the menu function and looking for something like ZONE or AREA and then changing the setting to indicate EUROPE.
