The image color on projection is not the same as shown in laptop. There's is no red color.

It could be a broken connection in the computer lead for the red signal, or a fault on the projector that the red panel doesn't work any more.

To diagnose, bring up the projector's on screen display. If there's white in the menus then the problem is the cable. Replace it with a new one. If the menus are affected too then it's a projector problem. This requires the attention of a service engionner.

My name is Chris. I connected my Dell Lat. D600 to a projector for a power point presentation but it refused to connect to the projector. Please what do i do to make my slide show else my school will fail...

you need to right click on the desktop and click properties, when display settings appear, enable the second display and you will then be able to show output on the projector. if you choose mirror displays whatever is shown on your laptop is copied to the projector. if you choose extend the display you would have to drag your power point over to the other screen, same as if you were to move the window out of the way

I have an Acer One netbook and tried to connect it to a projector but the normal looking lead from the projector did not seem to fit. The lead has those two wee screws at the side, and no place for them...

The Acer One netbook has a mini-VGA port on its left side. Page 10 of Acer's QuickGuide shows the port as item 3 External display (VGA) port. But unfortunately, the description shown for it is incorrect.
From your description, your projector's lead likely has a mini-VGA connector on the end as pictured. The connector can simply be plugged into the mini-VGA port but there are no holes beside the port for screws so it would just be a friction fit which should be sufficiently secure for most puposes. The connector and port are mini-DB 15 male and female respectively and can only fit one-way. The port has the wide side of the D on top so you would have to turn the pictured connector over to be able to plug it into the port. Windows XP should be able to detect the projector via plug-and-play installing any display drivers if required. Page 8 of Acer's UserGuide describes Hotkey + Display toggle which switches display output between the display screen, external monitor (if connected) and both. Pressing + with the projector plugged in will bring up a window in the middle of the screen allowing the selection of internal display, external display, both, or a 800x600 VGA projector. If the display is on the projector, unplugging the cable should automatically revert display back to the internal screen. For VGA see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector splines.jpg

I own a Optoma EP709 dlp Projector and have had no problem until recently. I have used a hp laptop Vista based computer. I can no long toggle (fn F4)successfully so that the view is shown on the projector...

this is a shot in the dark, i don't have a projector to hook to my laptop, but i have hooked it to my tv and actually had to right click on the desktop in an unoccupied spot and go into the display settings to get my connection between both, it is probably similiar for laptop to projector.

Only bottom half is shown on screen from our Benq

Try lowering the resolution of your pc to a lower amount that the Projector can handle. Start as low as 800x600 and try working up from there.
To change pc's resolution: Right click on the desktop, click properties then settings and try sliding the resolution adjuster and testing each one with your projector. wait for the projector to resync itself each time.
good luck!

Laptop computer connected to projector.

When the projector displays the background image and the lcd displays the desktop as normal you can drag the open windows to the left or right and display them on the projector. it sounds like this laptop has an internal video card. If you right click on the desktop it might give you options to configure the display settings for the video card. Not sure how you will get to it if it does not show up on the right click menu. Probably through the start menu or in the control panel there should be somewhere to change the settings for the video card. This will no be under the display settings though.

But once you find your dual display options you will be able to change it to make both displays the same

Help me...

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, have you tried pressing Fn + F? keys on the notebook to cycle through the choices; notebook display, notebook display + external, external only. The F? key would be one of the function keys with the small monitor icon.

Additionally, you may want to lower not only the screen resolution but likewise with the screen refresh rates.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy New Year.
