Question about HP Pavilion F1523 15" LCD Monitor
Hope you can help? This monitor flashes on and off say about every 2 seconds. I am very happy with electronic repairs but need some help with no manuals.
Open the screen and on the backside there are two pcb's.
Left is the power conversion unit and right is the hardware for the display. I had the same problem. So on the left one you will find a lot of capacitors (ELCO). Look for those ones with a rounded top. note their capacity and current (most fragile are the 16V470uF and 16V1000uF). Replace the ELCO's with rounded tops. NOTE THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE SIDES!!! DONT SWAP THESE or you will end up with another one with a rounded top. Solder it all together and close the screen. Your problemo is solvento!

Does it go threw its 'sleep mode' screen when it comes on, or the picture just comes back?
Also, if the picture is just coming back it could be the back light. So look real close to the monitor, if it is just the back light you should still be able to see some sort of images on the screen, but they will be extremely faint.
