Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How can i change the language on my compaq laptop from french to english without knowing a word of french

On Microsoft Windows (Windows Vista & 7) this can be accomplished. On all versions of Windows, this panel can be reached by opening the Run line (or Start Menu search box on Vista and 7) Pressing WIN KEY+R and typing intl.cpl followed by Pressing Enter Key.
creativetech_0.png
This would open the Language Options.

creativetech_0.jpeg

From the above box you have to choose English US, the click Advance settings button at the bottom right as shown above.
creativetech_2.png

Press E and select English US and press OK button. Restart the laptop.
As you would be facing French interface, it would be a little difficult but not impossible. So, Give it a try. Please note that options are the same and by paying a little attention, YOU CAN DO IT!

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

MY HTC HD2 one fine morning decided it was going to give me half the options in English and the other half in French. Please help as I do not know a word of French

Thank you for contacting Fixya!

I'm going to try to use a common sense suggestion. And, I hope it works.

As I see it, you may have two choices. (May have) The first is to return the phone for a new one. If that is not possible, then there may be another way to attack this problem.

Yahoo has an online translater. It's called, Babel Fish and it works quite well. It has a French to English option that you can use to translate the words of the menu of your phone. Click here: http://tiny.cc/YGx6I

With your user guide, you may be able to navigate just enough to locate the language menu and change the directory back to English. However, there is no guarantee it will remain so. Hense, returning the phone - especially if you pay additionally for insurance on your service plan with your cellular provider.

Sounds like someone changed the language settings on the printer. Unless you know French...just reinstall it.

Standby light is flashing 10 tims Model KV-HR36

Try unpluging your T.V. for 5hours+, then turn it back on. Worked for It's called a "hard reset" by sony.

Otherwise
Do the following steps
  1. Check the Sony remote for a button labeled "Sleep." This allows you to cycle through the sleep settings and determine how long you want the TV to remain on.
  2. Step 2 Press the "Sleep" button. You'll see a number come up onscreen: usually 15 or 90. When you press it again the number changes, moving up and down in increments of 15. This is the number of minutes the TV will remain on before it goes to sleep. As you cycle through it, you should see a setting with the words "Sleep Off" appear onscreen. If you leave it there, the sleep setting should cancel, allowing you to turn the set off when you like. If you miss it, just keep pushing the "Sleep" button. It will continue to cycle through the options until "Sleep Off" appears once again.
  3. Step 3 Access the timer function to shut off the timer by pressing the "Menu" button, then cycling through the onscreen options until you reach the "Applications" setting. Press it, and then cycle through to the "Clock/Timers" option.
  4. Step 4 Highlight the "Timer 1" setting and press the "+" button. If it's showing a given time, you'll need to deactivate it. Use the up and down arrows and move through the possible options until you come to the "Off" setting. Leave it there; that should shut the timer off.
  5. Step 5 Repeat the process with the "Timer 2" setting, a little further down the "Clock/Timers" menu. Set it to the "Off" position just as you did with the "Timer 1" setting.
  6. Step 6 Press the "Menu" button when you are done to exit the menu and return to the screen. You should be able to view the Sony TV as normal with no danger of it turning off.

good luck
