Question about Toshiba Satellite A100-S8111TD Notebook

Hello My problem is that I have A Toshiba Satellite A100 model laptop. I have formated it and install windows XP Professional in it. It install successfully and it also find network adapter 1394 adapter but cannot connect with network. when i click on network status bar network icon it can't show IP Address while i have already put right IP Address. When i click to repair it then show following message: "Windows could not finish repaing the probelm because the follwing action cannot be completed. Failed to query TCP/IP setting of the connection Cannot proceed." In Device manager --> Other Devices it show following items as prefix "?" sign 1. Ethernet Controller 2. Mass storage Controller 3. Network Controller 4. PCI Device 5. SM Bus Controller 6. Unknown devices 7. USB Device please let me help for the same thanks

The devices that have a yellow ? against indicated that device drivers was not installed.

You can download any/all the Windows XP device drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from their download page.
Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get the correct drivers.

Did you format and reinstall Windows XP from a clean install? You will need to do that and then pull an XP driver. Chances are if Toshiba designed your system with a factory OS of Vista they didnt put the XP driver for your system on their support pages. YOu will need to pull the specifications for your exact model and see the manufacturer of your sound device/card. Then go to the manufacturers website to obtain the drivers for XP.

How to install XP in toshiba Satellite L45-S7423 laptop


You cannot uninstall Windows Vista, but you can reinstall your previous operating system, which then replaces Windows Vista. To reinstall your old operating system, you must have the original installation disc. Back up your programs and files, insert the installation disc into your computer, and then reinstall the old operating system. To regain the hard disk space used by Windows Vista, reformat the disk during the reinstallation process. After reinstalling your previous operating system, reinstall your programs and files.
