I do not believe the problem is the fan. sounds like the frig. is low on Freon this is what will cause the ice build up. you need to find the leak, you can do this by spraying soapy water on coil tubes & watch for bubbles. repair leak & recharge.

Unplug the unit and pull the relay off the compressor and shake it to see if it rattles. Post back the results.

Hello, our fridge has stopped working, the fan and motor are still running but the unit wont get cold anymore.I think it might be a freon problem but I cant be sure. The motor and fan are running constant

Your right! A freon leakage system problem cause no cold anymore.
But a temp control must be check.
A defective temp control will also cause no cold of the freezer.
The same also if compressor motor is defective even though it is running.
Call a service technician to verify the trouble of your fridge.
I hope I give you idea regarding your fridge problem.

Rattle and Gurgling noises

It's the fan bouncing off the fan-motor housing. The best way to stop this is to shim the motor mount so the fan will ride with the motor shaft "out" preventing it from bouncing. When you raise the fridge on one corner you are doing the same thing the shim will accomplish.

The draining gurgling sound is probaby freezer defrost water being pushed down the drain tube into the drip pan at the bottom. The door action pushes/pulls air in the tube and pushes out water.

Whirlpool Fridge Making a rattling noise

There are 2 areas it could be in....The upper area where the evaporator fan is....or the lower area where the condenser fan is..
If it is in the freezer...when you open the door there should be a button that the door connects with that you can hold in manually to make the fan engage..and listen for the noise..the odds are if it were ice build up....your thumping the fridge would not make it stop ..since the thumping would not remove the Ice...it would continue to build up and the fan would eventually stop completely and everything would warm up. It could be a loose stap that holds evaporator lines in place or a motor mount that is loose ..

Or it could have to do with the condenser fan..where the compressor is.The compressor and condenser coil are located underneath the freezer section of your refrigerator. There is some tubing connecting the compressor to the condenser coil. There is also a condenser fan to cool the condenser. To access these parts the refrigerator has to be pulled away from the wall. If you pull the refrigerator out go slowly and watch the tubing that connects from the water valve on the back of the refrigerator to the water cut off at the wall.
Remove the power from the refrigerator. Remove the lower panel on the rear of the refrigerator. Look inside for anything loose. Locate the condenser fan motor and blade. These are the areas to stay away from when power is applied. Plug the refrigerator back in being careful to avoid the condenser fan motor and blade. Wear gloves to prevent burning yourself on the hot refrigerant lines and try touching tubing and lightly pushing and pulling to see if you can cause or stop the noise.
Generally a rattle or hum is caused by a refrigerant line touching part of the cabinet or base pan. If it is not repaired it may rub a hole in the refrigerant line causing the refrigerant to leak out. If you don't feel comfortable trying to correct it, you should schedule service and let a technician repair the refrigerator.

I hope this helps...please rate me ...thanks The Fang

Haier HRF10 Fridge weird motor sounds

hi. thanks for the question. leaving the door open ,would let a lot of moisture to enter the freezer, and cause it to frost up. to clear frost. cut power to fridge, open the doors .,let thaw over nite clean up the water mess. dry the inside of fridge & freezer turn power on good to go. to stop the door from being left open .lift the legs under the front so the fridge has more weight, and it will close by self . no more doors left open. thanks the appliance doc

Rattling in freezer

The noise is most likley coming from on of the fan motors. My guess is the condensor fan motor which is on the back of the fridge at the bottom. You will need to take the back off and see if the blade is hitting something or the housing for the fan is loose. The vibration from that fan may even cause the drain pan to rattle. If the noise is coming from inside the freezer then it is the evaporator fan motor and would likely have some ice buildup around the blade for to make noise. Will have to take the grill off in the center top of the panel in the freezer to inspect this fan. There is little tab in the middle of that grill that you push up on and pop the bottom loose then pry on one side with a screwdriver, pushing inward and pull out for the grill to come off. Let me know what you find.

Loud humming noise as fridge is running

Hey everyone-

I recently fixed a similar problem with my freezer. I searched first and found this and a few other sites which listed this and wanted to provide input for anyone in the future.

I have a GE GSH25JSRF SS. It is about 3 years old. Several months ago I noticed when the evaporator fan in the back of the freezer turned on it would make an awful howling or whistling sound. Basically sounded like what you would hear from the window of an older house if the wind outside was blowing real strong. It was loud enough to hear on the other end of the house.

I was convinced that it HAD to be the air blowing over the venting or a gap that created that sound. But I read different solutions on the internet and decided to take a chance on simply replacing the evaporator motor and attached fan blade. That solution worked and my house is quiet again, thank god.

I ordered the parts from a supplier on the internet. Keep in mind, though, if you're not real handy it may be more than you bargain for. Might be easier to have a service guy come out.

I'm still not sure exactly what aspect of these parts caused the howling sound. It could be a bearing within the motor or perhaps the fan blade slipping due to wear. Either way, it's fixed now. Just wanted to share. Thanks.
