No picture Y'day while watching a program on TV(LG 50PS60 Plasma), there was a buzzing noise from the TV for around 5 mins.. then it went away on it's own... today the buzzing noise came back for 2 mins or so & suddenly the TV went blank (no picture.. sound still on) Unplugged the power, disconnected all the cables & put them back.. plugged back the power.. now it is total dead.. no relay click or lights on the Control PCB either. Also looked for any obvious burn marks or bulging caps or leakage from any components. Found none. Also checked all the fuses I could see. All okay.

It's obvious that the power supply failed. The most common parts in a power supply are a thermistor or a voltage rectifier, possibly even a voltage regulator. diodes or resistors can act as fuses too. A ringing sound can come from a fixed coil that isn't kept still with enough epoxy. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Our LG 50" plasma tv screen went black after a popping noise but still had sound, after great diliberations decided to take the back off and have a peek!
We unplugged the tv and tested the fuses (there were three we could see) one had blown, the one on the left as you look at the back of the tv it also has one above it. We wrote the code/seriel number down and took the fuse to the electrical wholesalers Maplin and bought a pack of 10 fuses for £1.29 replaced the fuse in the tv and everything now fine!!!!!!
Hope this might be of use to anyone whose lost the picture after a loud popping/snacking noise but still has sound.

SOURCE: lg plasma t.v. has sound, but no picture

That usually indicates that the power section driver board (one of them) has failed on you. There are three boards each of which can fail and cause this. Usually it is the Y or Z board.

Bad news is to know which one you need to be able to test inside the tv. Good news is the boards are fairly cheap around $35. So you probably will have to take it to a repair shop to get it fixed. Unless they really try to do a number on you as far as prices it is worth fixing. However be a bit cautious here and get and estimate and find the price of a new tv. If the markup on the parts and the labor gets close to the new tv cost then you will need to decide if it is worth fxing or replacing. Ie used tv or new tv with warrenty.

Volume picture & level its on frozen on screen for days goes away then comes back again & TV or HDMI on top right screen will freeze on screen to. menu button works sometimes.

First of all try to update the firmware. If its didn't help then you can go for a new mother board .

My plasma tv went pop...and now I don't have a piture.

Plasma TV uses high-voltage in the display. It's likely died. When this happened to my plasma tv, repair was 3 times the cost of a new tv.

Hi, I Purchased an LG 50PK350 plasma tv and I am experiencing an extremely loud, annoying buzzing sound even with the amp switched off & the sound muted. The buzzing is not constant ... the brighter...

I have this tv aswell, and yes I will confirm that it does buzz quite alot, but all plasma tvs do, it is to do with how it renders images, the buzzing can be made worse by it being close to a wall and it reflecting back. I found that my tv stand some how amplified the buzzing when i got mine. I dont think its something you can escape.

Mine i notice also when scrolling around menus seems to have lines that follow your selection....not to pleased about that

Watching a football game picture is very unclear

The noise reduction option will cause a blur on fast movement. Also, you probably already know this, but a standard definition broadcast will look very blurry on an HD TV, so make sure the channel you're watching is actually an HD channel.

Oh, wow, I just noticed that this is from October. Oh well, maybe you're still having problems.

Click noise...now picture is barely visible

A click means the power to the LCD has been shut off. Try resetting the TV, pull the AC plug, wait a minute then replug.
