My Xbox360 is asking for a pass phrase for Belkin but I don't know what a pass phrase is because its not on the bottom of my router?

The "passphrase" is the WPA2 security password that the router uses to permit access to the wireless network. ALL wireless devices on the network have to use this password to get onto the network. Whomever is controlling the router should know this password.

My printer is asking me for a WPA passphrase in order to connect to the router. Where do I find this?

Your printer must have wireless capability. It is asking for your wireless security passphrase in order to join the wireless network. This passphrase is the key/phrase that you created when you setup your wireless network. You will need to login to your router and go to wireless setting section to find out what the passphrase is if you don't remember it. Thanks

I am trying to connect my wireless printer to the router, but when it comes to the WEP code, the one I have does not work. Is there a way to reset the WEP code?

Hi glenncj,

Welcome to Fixya. If you need the WEP key or Network Key you need to access the Wireless Settings Page.

To access the router page just open a browser then type 192.168.1.1, the Default username is blank and the password is admin. Go to the Wireless Tab select Wireless Security under the Security Mode you will see there Network Key or Wep Key. The Network Key or Wep Key serves as a password or security code on your network to make it secure.
You can also reset the router by pressing the Reset button at the back of it for 15-30 seconds using a Pen and a Paper Clip.

If this works dont forget to say thanks. Thanks for using Fixya.

Linksys 64bit passphrase

The passphrase is a phrase you create instead of using hex numbers (phrases are easier to remember than hex numbers) to setup the wireless encryption key.
To configure the Linksys wireless setting, connect a LAN cable from the Linksys LAN port to the computer's LAN port. Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
Then go to the wireless settings and configure the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption.
Use a passphrase to setup the encryption key

Need passphrase---it doesn't work 192.168.1.1

When you connect a LAN cable from your computer to the Linksys then open a browser and enter the configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
Login = admin
PW = admin
Then go to the wireless setup
The WPA or WPA2 encryption can be setup using a passphrase.
This can be any combination of words and numbers. Eg My computer1 is mad. - This passphrase is used to generate a hexadecimal encryption number. It is easier to remember a phrase than Hex numbers.
You will also need to configure the LAN card in your computer with this passphrase so it can connect to the wireless router. Once the router configuration is complete the LAN cable can removed, it is not needed for wireless connection.

Printer asks for wpa passphrase I enter the correct passphrase but the printer says it is wrong

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router .
Is there any computer connected to the router with the Ethernet cable?
If not then connect 1 computer to the router and open the router set up page. Once you open the router set up page, you will be able to find the wireless network key.
Use that password to connect to the wireless network

I did not know my network key for wireless lan, Satellite L300 se

The network key is an encryption key ie. WEP/WPA-PSK key.
This key is configured in the wireless setup of the wireless access point or wireless router.
The key can be a hexadecimal number but most people use a Passphrase.
The Passphrase can be a phrase such as "I'm am so smart 12345" and this is used to generate the hexadecimal encryption key.
For instructions on setting up and configuring the wireless security for your access point (this apply to wireless access points and wireless routers), please click in this link and follow my instructions :-

Passphrase for home network with a d-link di524 wireless router

well the default username is admin and the default password is nothing (blank). that is to get into your router settings. if that don't work then just reset the router by the reset button on the back of the router, this will reset all the settings to default and then you can use the default username and password. or if you just want the manual then here you go - ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/di524/Manual/DI-524_manual_06292005.zip
