Question about Kodak EasyShare Z980 Digital Camera
The button for the off/on is broken I would like to purchase one ..anyone know where I could find one?
You could try: http://www.camerarepairservice.co.uk/kodak-camera-repair.html Or: http://www.unitedcamera.com/KODAK-Z980/ I have bought main boards and other parts direct from Canon in the past. Only thing is once you've bought it, they will not guarantee the part for warranty unless they repair it themselves. Just a word of warning. If you do get the part, which I assume is the part you use your thumb on to witch the unit on and off with, the spastic bit, or maybe the switch inside, either way, if you undo the camera, there is a part inside which is a fairly large component leading to the flash which is called a capacitor, google it for a picture of one, anyway, this holds an electrical charge for ages, until it is discharged by the flash. If it is not discharged, it will give you a mighty shock if you touch the wires on it or the circuit board it is on......be careful, and always remove the battery before working on it and wear rubber gloves as some of the components are unite sensitive to electrostatic. Good luck
