SOURCE: twinstar electric fireplace - fireplace heat comes

I have the same problem. Heats fine for a 1 minute then 'click', and no more heat. If I turn it off and wait a few minutes, 'click' and it will blow heat again (for 1 minute...).

Link from Mike didn't help because this is an Electric heater, in an 'amish fireplace'.

I'm thinking it might be a faulty 'thermal fuse' or possibly the thermostat.

Our ( unknown brand ) used gas fireplace pilot light will not stay lit. As long as you hold the lighter to the pilot light and push the knob ( in the pilot lighting possition) it will stay lit, but as soon...

The magnet inside the gas valve is probably gone or simply has corrosion. Remove the thermocouple from the magnet at the base of the safety valve. Do not remove the magnet it is not serviceable. Clean out the hole with a pencil eraser. Reinstall the thermocouple and retry. Getting a gas valve will be a task unless yall can find another used fireplace. Most of time corrosion buildup causes the problem. The probability of the thermocouple itself being bad is slim because they are very well built.
Let me know.

The reason this is happening is that the overload switch, which is part of the safety features has gone bad. That's why the burner will only light with the glass off. The orange color of the flame from the pilot flame is normal for propane.

Unfortunately, this is not a DIY fix. If you can find a qualified service technician, that's the best way to go. As, Heat-n-Glow fireplaces are a basic, builder box line. And as such, have some quirks that other, more expensive gas fireplaces don't have.

Hope this helps solve your problem.

Gas fireplace won't light up even when pilot light is on

Check for how clean the bottom of the unit is. I know it seems small but when dealing with these amounts of electric current they are just that "small" and the dust can be shorting out the unit and not allowing the gas valve to release the gas. Its a safety thing, they dont want gas around an electrical short "go figure" lol

Take the fan power switch apart and clean the 2 point contacts. Also clean the 4 male studs that the wires plug into. That should solve the problem.

The pilot light to our fireplace insert keeps going out. after the fireplace is lit, we here a click and then the pilot light goes out and the fire goes out. we already changed the thermocoupler.

Check venting, exhaust, the adj vent in fireplace. If that does not work your valve failed, warranty it. If no warranty expect to pay between 90 to 150 dollars.
