First check that your motherboard supports booting from a usb device in your bois, under the start up order.

If Yes then

copy the windows cd to the drive, and startup with usb in teh boot order before hdd, the drive may boot all on it's own. If that doesn't work, you will need to create a boot disk with command.com and dos usb drivers to load the 16 bit installer located in the i386 folder on the drive.

How to install xp from my laptop after boot option i pressed any key but not responding

Check that your DVD Drive is working or not by testing the XP installation Disc on other notebooks. If it doesn't work, then you may need to install XP using a USB drive. For that, use 'Win to Flash' software. I am providing you the link that will guide you through the entire process.

Note that when you are actually installing XP and the boot menu of your Pen Drive appears, you have to select TEXT MODE INSTALLATION (first option). Then you will be able to install as if you were doing it through CD, but at much greater speed.

I want to make my pendrive bootable to install window xp on my computer

download this file unetbootin-windows-471.exe, then you must have an ISO file of your windows xp, you can install ultraiso or any iso maker available on the web, insert your xp cd then make an iso image out of your xp cd... after having iso file for win xp, insert your pen drive (at least you have 1gig free space on your pen drive) then open unetbootin-windows-471.exe, under the disk image, locate your win xp iso file using the select disk image file button,. then just chose Usb Drive , and also on the drive chose the drive of the usb (check it on my computer and check the drive letter of your pen drive) then click ok... once successful transfer of image to the pen drive, restart pc then make your pen drive to be the 1st boot device

Hello sir, to install window xp and 7 using a kinston pen drive you will to have a software called win to flash. Its a software that allows you to install window 7 and xp from a pen drive and for the sun solaris you also need a software called unetbootin that allows you to install solaris using a pen drive. You can google these softwares to download them for free. I hope this solution is helpful. Have a wonderful day.

I have hp 520 leptop my cd rom is not working and my win xp is currept then i wants install the win xp with bootable pandrive but how make the tha pandrive is bootable-

You have problems.

It is possible to to use a Pen Drive/ Flash drive to load windows XP, but the process is never 100% reliable. You need to have the actual equivalent of the XP system disk, or boot disk, on your pen drive. Even then your system may not recognise the pen drive as a system disk. It works for some but not not for others. If you have your original XP disks, try loading it on the pen drive via another PC. It works best if the pen drive is formatted to NTFS, but may still work on FAT32 format. 2Gb pen is a general good size. Trial and error.

There is reportedly an XP Lite version that is more suited to this, but I am not clear on the details or legalities..

Your only real sensible option is to replace the CDROM. You may wish to upgrade to DVDRAM Drive for a few cents more.
