I have a megxon v5200i, it worked ok for 8 weeks but now will not function in any capacity. The green power light is showing but nothing on the screen, it also fails to turn power off when I close the screen. Can you help as the camera shops here in Fiji are unable to help. Hope you can help. Roy

You must be having the user manual with you. Look for a small pin head sized reset button which should be available in the schematic showing the location about its features. This will restore it to the factory settings or default settings. If it can connected to a PC(it should) then do connect and see what it reads from the camcorder. The site where you candownload a copy of the manual is available at this link: http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/MEGXON/V5200I-_E.
Hope this helps........................sodeep

Its a clear hardware error in your camera.its not the battery problem.there is a memory ic in your camera.that has stuck in stand by mode.as what ever memory ic commands the camera does.you said in your comment that if you shut the screen it will still not turn off.that means the memory ic is not functioning properly.any how sending it to the service center is necessary.
as they have resetter for these ic they will just reset it and make it proper.
dont void the warranty as its still under warranty.

please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.thanks

I am guessing that you have tried to resetting the camera by removing the batteries for 15 mins.
Unfortunatly it sounds as if the firmware or flash memory IC for the camera has become corrupted. The only way that this could be rectified is by reflashing the camera with the firmware for that particular model. If reflashing the camera fails or the camera does not get picked up by the flashing software when connected to a pc then the only way to fix the problem would be to return it to the place of purchase or the manufacturer. To complicate things even further ther manufacturer does not list the firmware for that model of camera on their website. Therefore the best solution would be to contact the manufacturer and detail the problem and advise them that it was suggested to try a firmware flash, with a bit of luck they will provide you with the apropriate utility and firmware.
There email address for support is: [email protected]
If the camera is still under warranty then it should be sent off for repair as this is somthing that will be covered under warranty.
In summary:
Try and contact the manufacturer for a flash utility and firmware for the camera, if the flashing fails or they don't give you the software then contact the place you baught it for warranty information. If they fail to give this information then contact the manufacturer via the email above and get the warranty information.
Hope this helps

Try leaving it without batteries for 24 hrs. If there is an internal battery you'll need to either find it and remove it, or leave it without batteries for more than 24 hrs.
if that doesnt fix... then there might be a serious problem with ur board.... i know u want to fix it urself but opening the camera inside out will void ur warranty since u say its 8 weeks old.... its better to have a new replaced camera rather than the one which doesnt work and which has already been opened and tamepered with just after 8 weeks...
have a good day good luck with ur camera

Kindly try to disconnect the power and loose the static charge also check for the battery condition if the problem persists contact the service center as this is very minor hardware injury and will not not take more than 10 minutes at service center,if you are unable to locate the store in fiji do not worry just send it via courier to different service station at different location

Pc has power but nothing shows on screen. motherboard doesnt beep once like it used to when turned on but green light is on indicating its ok.

dear,

Remove the ram and check, is the motherboard beeps or not..

it should beep as long beeps....and should continue beeping after serveral times until u switch off it...
then reconnect the ram after swiching off power...

remove the data cables of hdd and cd/dvd and then try to switch it on...
if it works fine then reconnect it properly...

Fault can be in Ram or data cables perhaps...

regards,

hope it will fix the issue so dont forget to rate it...
