I have an old two...black/red thermostat wire. Which slot does the black wire go I on the rth6450

Two wire systems are usually heat only systems. If yours is a heat only system, it will not matter which color goes on a certain terminal, just as long as one goes to RH and one goes to W.

Carrier OEM to Honeywell Programmable Tstat - NEED HELP

you likely have a "two stage" system, but not a two stage heat pump. the first stage is probably the heat pump itself, and the second stage is the auxilliary resistance heat that suppliments the heat pump at lower temps. if i knew the terminals that are available on the new stat, i could advise you on the proper wiring.

I recieved a ds lite with water damage and the four odd wires on my ds lite motherboard all come off does any one have a diagram of where the wires might go thanks please help

from the tom screen there should only be 2 wires 1 black and 1 white. The white wire is the mic that plugs straight onto the board, and the black wire which plugs onto the wirless insert which attaches onto the board. the other 2 wires could be loose speaker wires if there is another black and a red wire, other than that could you explain a bit further what the wires actually look like.

I have a westinghouse three speed fan. there are 4 wires a black, purple orange and yellow . the new switch has four connectors L 1,2,3 does any one know witch goes where? thanks , i bought the new switch...

ok. hope this helps, use a switch from FANTEC. it'll be called a 3 speed fan switch. CAM #5 No. 21105. this will also say Single Layer 3 or 4 wire application SPLIT continuity function.. THE SPLIT PART IS VITAL. now when wire it. the BLACK wire goes in SLOT 3. ORANGE wire goes in L. PURPLE wire goes in slot 2, ORANGE wire goes in slot 1. IF, and i repeat IF this does not work for you ensure you have a SPLIT CONTINUITY FUNCTION switch. NO MATTER WHAT the BLACK wire WILL go into slot 3. the ORANGE wire WILL go in slot L. switch the orange and purple wires only. ENSURE POWER IS OFF WHEN CONNECTING OR DISCONNECTING WIRES. YOU WILL GET THE SNOT ZAPPED OUTTA YOU IF YOU DON'T. please post if this helps.

The white which has the longer slot is the negative and the black wire which has the smaller slot is the positive ( hot ) wire.
