SOURCE: I have a Maytag MAHG-24 front load washer. The

The "SUDS" error can be caused by too much detergent, improper detergent, drain pump/drain line problem, or pressure switch malfunction.

1. If you are not using HE detergent, you need to be. These washers are designed to use HE detergent which is formulated for wash tubs that use 5 to 7 gallons of water. If you use regular detergent, you are, in affect, placing a higher concentration of detergent in the washer that is normally formulated for wash tubs that have a 35 gallon capacity. The manufacturer should have a disclaimer in the owner's manual explaining this. In most cases this will also void your warranty. NOTE: Prolonged use of the wrong detergent can damage the drain pump components and or wash tub seals.

If you are using the correct detergent, double check the label to make sure it is not double (2X) or triple (3X) concentrated. You could still be placing too much soap in your wash.

To get rid of excessive detergent, place the washer on a RINSE & SPIN cycle, then run it through a normal wash cycle with NO detergent added. You may have to repeat these steps depending on the amount of detergent used.

2. If you do not have a detergent issue, double check the drain pump and drain lines to ensure they are not obstructed in any way. Click on the following link for step-by-step instructions:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574284-checking_the_drain_pump_on_a_front_loade

Obstructions in the drain pump and/or drain lines can attribute to air getting trapped in the drain pump and cause the error code. Double check all electrical connections to the drain pump and Central Control Unit (CCU). You will need to remove the top panel of the washer to access the CCU. This is accomplished by removing the three screws in the back of the washer that hold the top panel in place. With the screws removed, slide the panel back, then off. The CCU is located directly behind the wash tub in the center of the washer. The Drain Pump connector will be the 6th connector (facing from the front L to R) in the center of the CCU.

3. Check the Pressure Switch to ensure it is good. The Pressure Switch is located to the right of the CCU as you are looking from the front. It is a small cylindrical shaped device with a connector plug and an air hose attached. The switch can be checked at several water levels by removing the plug and taking resistance readings at the connector pins. Readings are as follows:

(Pins are numbered R to L facing the from the REAR)

Pins 1 to 2 (SUDS Detect) - 0 ohms
Pins 3 to 4 (Overflow) - 0 ohms
Pins 4 to 5 (L1) - 0 ohms
Pins 4 to 6 (Empty) - 0 ohms

SOURCE: My maytag neptune washer is

f you use cold water wash and rinses regularly it may have an accumulation of un-dissolved detergent, dirt/grime and body oils stuck on the inside wall of the outer tub. When washing whites I assume that you are using Hot water and it could be causing some of the accumulation to break loose in small clumps and re-depositing on the clothes.

How do i address a recurrent suds display and subsequent extended rinse cycle on my washer? I have tried using less soap ans always use HE soap. Thx

Unhook the water hoses at the wall and check to make sure the screens are free of debris. The pump is easy to access via the back panel--just two screws. There are blogs available that tell you how to check and replace the pump if necessary. Read all of them before you start. It is often the culprit. Good luck.

Fav6800aww control board and/or keypad gone haywire (for lack of a more technical term) would like to replace quickly and as inexpensively as possible. Note: this is the 2nd time down this road since...

Yep need to put surge suppressor on the Washer 120VAC service outlet. Wonder if you may have grounding issues at the mains. Are you in the country?

Try e-bay for both the Control Board and Console.

P/N for the Control board is 25001001 or 25001217R

Could be a Console issue or something pulling down + 12VDC on the Control Board like corrision issues at the TDS.

Go here if you want to treoubleshoot for free Google ""Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW"" post in the Maytag washer forum.

Or maybe someone on this forum can help.

Maytag washer top load neptune

See this post for troubleshooting the Lr error code. . http://www.fixya.com/support/t2419091-maytag_neptune_top_load_fav6800aww_tub

Lr is locked rotor. My first thought was that this could be a Motor Controller issue. This owner replaced tried that and it did not resolve the issue. He then replaced the main Control Board and that fixed his machine. Without known good parts (Control Board Motor Controller) this might be difficult for a DIY fix.

The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

If you are going to try to DIY the repair I will see if I can help……Rich

I baught a maytag front loading washer in 1999 it wont drain and the door lock dose not work. An engineer has been out and sayes the mother board is broken and he was unable to get one to replace it

I had a similair problem a few years ago, the touch panel and the mother board were replaced. Worked fine for a while, then had drainage issues among other issues, before it just stopped working.
Used the technical packet found behind touch panel to place machine in service mode and was able to test all features of machine. Found out we had a faulty motor/motor control board (very very very common on our MAH5500BWW) The original has been replaced with a new kit.
I contacted Maytag via email and 2 days later they were shipping me all the parts we needed at a significant savings, however not free. The repair was actually quite simple. Also, if you have a flourescent colored nylon line in the soap dispenser, pulling on that will unlock the door. Good luck

Maytag Nepture MAH5500BWW burned control board

ummmm, honestly ive never replaced just the board(im an authorized maytag servicer) so our replacements have always been new, and in this case the repair kit containing both board and motor. that being said, i cant see a reason as to why you couldnt relace just the board itself, ,Ireally never found the reason why the board would burn out, but, as far as repair kit im certain that they were trying to get all circuit boards and motors back to only one model, instead of having 5 or six different boards andmotors, this will bring them all to the most recent board and motor, never was an issue with themotor, jusat that you couldnt wire in the new board without the neew wiring. As long as its the same board i cant see why that wont work. as far as the "wax motor" that was a seperate issue burning out the Top control board, total seperate then your problem,., dont really see an issue with installing your "used board"
