very frustrating situation. It took me a while to realize that the clock is not working.I set it to the corrext time and then set up a program to record and nothing happens. When I display the time its the same time as I set the clock to hours ago.

Your RCA universal remote control may not be able to perform all functions of your Magnavox player. In extreme cases, you may only be able to control on-off. A Philips universal remote control might be a better choice.

WHEN I PRESET THE VCR TO RECORD MY SHOW LAST NIGHT 8:00PM IT WOULDNT WORK THE RECORD LIGHT DID NOT COME ON AT THAT TIME

There are a few things you must do in order to program a recording. One, you must make sure that the vcr clock is set. Two, the vcr must be set on the right date, as does the recording. Three, make sure that the daylight savings, AM/PM, etc. settings are saved accordingly. Also, if you have the operating manual for the vcr, you could check it for exact program instructions. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck! Sincerely, Der Strom

How to set the clock on vcr/dvd.

Make sure the antenna//cable TV connections are correct. Channels are set. If this unit is connected to a cable/satellite box, select the local PBS station on them to set the clock automatically.

There's an Auto Clock Setting. "This Unit can set the time and date automatically by reffering to a PBS station.". But I never had to do that, I just went to Setup and it already knew what the date and time was.

"Note: The clock may set itself automatically after you connect the antenna/cable signal and plug in the power cord. Only the analog PBS channel signal is effective for auto clock setting. The unit receives the clock data at 12:00 A.M./P.M. from the PBS channel when the power is off.

1 Press [SETUP] and use the up and down arrows to select "General Setting", then press OK.
"General Setting" menu will appear.

2. Use up and down arrows to select "Clock" then press OK.
"Clock" menu will appear.

3. Use up and down arrows to select "Auto Clock Setting", then press OK.

4. Use up and down arrows to select "Auto" then press OK.

5 Press SETUP to exit.

6. Press STANDBY-ON to turn off the unit.
This unit will search for the time only when the power is off. Leave it off for several minutes to give this unit time to set the clock.

If the unit chooses an incorrect PBS channel, set the PBS channel manually by following the steps below:

1. Select "Manual" at step 4, then press OK.
2. Use [the number buttons] or up and down arrows to enter your PBS channel number, then press OK.
3. Press SETUP and turn off the unit.

If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll type up the instructions for what to do if you need to actually set the clock manually.

The clock on my VCR/DVD recorder will not keep the correct time. It goes back one hour repeadedly after setting.

You`ll probably find that the PDC (Program Delivery Control) is turned on. If you turn this off, the autmatic clock setting will be disabled and will have to be set manually. Ian

Magnavox is made by Funai. Similiar problems in another piece of equipment made by them was solved by 1) Turning off DST in the clock, or/and 2)Turning off the clocks auto update feature, ie, go to manual clock adustment. Hope this helps.

Magnavox MSR90D6 Clock

The clock is hosed and probably never worked on these models...it just sits there, it's like there is no clock crystal or whatever they use these days in DVDR's...

BTW: You can get these untis realy cheap on eBay and probably for that very reason-probably recycled units being sold...

You can record manualy ok with them.

Funai Corp. dropped the ball to get these quickly to market...so sad !!
