Make sure your cycle is properly selected with the timer and that the dial knob isn't broken. It will make that noise if you try to start it when the cycle is set to off. Otherwise, you might have something stuck in your blower wheel. Try spinning the drum by hand and if it doesn't move, there may be a restriction causing the motor to hum.

SOURCE: GE Dryer making buzzing noise

It does not look like there is an access panel from the back side on this model, but you may be able to try this: Remove power to dryer. Take screw out that holds the end of the exhaust pipe to the back of the dryer and pull out the metal exhaust pipe. Now you should be able to look in and see the end of the motor and the belt. Release the belt and turn the motor shaft by hand. If it turns easily, the drum supports slides are pobably shot ( WE1M333) and possibly the part that holds them (
WE3M26) which causes exsessive drag on the drum. If the motor shaft does not turn easily, hope you have a sock or wash rag stuck in the blower wheel. If not, motor is bad. To get at the blower or the other parts you will have to take the screws out holding the top down to the front of the dryer, then remove the screw on each side near the top holding the front on. Lift the front slightly and remove. You don't have to take off the wires to the door switch. Parts I listed are supporting the drum on the top side. If you need more info do an "ask me" question.

Possible unbalanced load in the washer. I have found this to be the case in other types of top load washers. Just redistribute the load the try again. If this works, washer is doing what it needs to do to keep from spinning madly out of control and extending its life!

When I press the start button on my GE DPSR610EG4WT profile dryer it only makes an electrical buzzing sound and will not turn on or start. What causes this?

The buzz is probably coming from the control switch drive motor. If it is not turning the switch, the dryer wont run.

Drum wont turn.pust start and hear a buzz but drun wont turn

I have found that the switch activated by the door close or turns on the interior light when open on is likely the problem. You may notice that if the door is open and you push the start button, it will buzz. So if the door is closed and you get this buzz when pushing the start button, there is a problem with the door switch. The start button "thinks" the door is open, and therefore not start. The defective door switch needs to be replaced. At least highly likely.

When hitting start button, it sometimes buzzes, but fails to start. Can sometimes wait for a little while and try again, and it starts. When it buzzes, it will only buzz for a few seconds and then nothing.

it is either the door switch or start switch, this website will show you how to test both, Good Luck Tim:

I have a GE dryer that makes a buzzing sound when I try to start it but it wont start. I just finished a load and now it wont work.

sounds like you have a bad motor. you can try taping down your door switch or having someone hold it down for you and then hit the start button while giving the drum a kickstart with your hand clockwise. If the unit starts up and gets running then you have bad start windings on your motor. Just replace the dryer is not worth putting a motor in. Hope this helps.

I tried to start the dryer (whirlpool LE5700XK or the LG5701XK, not sure which) and when I hit the start button there was a loud buzzing noise, but no start. I turned the dial to the off position, and then...

Could be a couple things, depending on the buzz you are getting, if it's a buzz from the board like an alarm, it could be a door switch, if it's an electric sounding humming buzz it could be something stuck in your blower wheel like a sock
