Question about Zanussi ZBF360 Electric Single Oven

1 Answer

Oven light blew and now no power to the oven.

While trying to remove oven light cover, a flash and a bang took place in the light housing and blew the mains fuse. The housing just turned and appears the wiring has shorted or come loose. Reset the mains fuse but there is no power to the oven.

If you are not knowledgable in electricity, call for service.
This is an electrical short at the light, I have seen this before.
The wiring for the light has grounded to the oven. This causes the main fuse to blow. You will need to fix the short first. Then reset the main fuse/replace.
In the case of the wall oven, you may have to remove the oven to fix it properly. Depending on the model and where the short is.

Testimonial: "Hi Mark. Thank you for your helpful reply. Looks like I'll have to remove the oven to get to the back of the light. Can you tell me if removing it is as straightforward as unscrewing the 4 screws on the front and sliding it out or are there pitfalls I should be aware of? Regards. Les"

I have a Kuppersbusch microspeed plus (EMWK9600.0M) was in the house when we moved In. whilst using it in microwave mode I heard a bang and the internal glass door has shattered.

The glass will break if the food being heated is not covered and fat/grease heats up to flash point on the glass or there is a cut in the glass or the food banged against the glass or the glass was stressed by an incorrectly fitting door.
A new door is possibly available or glass.

Oven cuts out with a bang when i turn it on ???

if you hear a big bang, and it wont light right away, it is normaly the ignitor thats going bad in oven. the ignitor has to get very hot to ignite the gas. orange in color. if this is the problem be very carefull not to bump the new ignitor on any thing, if you replace it yourself.I had the same problem last year, when trying to light oven it blew the door part way open because the ignitor was bad and the build up of gas caused this.

Hi we have an electrolux EOUI000X oven the oven went bang and blew a fuse now the oven fan runs but is not heating up the oven is only just 2 years old could you diagnose tha problem thanks dan

Hi You blew an element , look inside and you will see an element that has a burned spot very easy to repair, first of all was the over working or the broiler ? witch ever one was working when it made the snap is the one that burn out , First unplug the over in the rear pull out the racks so that you can see most ovens have two phillip head screws that hold the element in place , once the scres are removed pull the ellement towards you and you will see two wires , when holding the element remove the two screws fromt he back end of the element and install the new one in the same maner , this is a very easy job here is a web page that sells oven parts and they ship very fast , good luck and email me if needed , Guy       http://www.appliancepartspros.com/

I turned the bottom oven on and it was like a small lighting bolt went off, it tripped the fuse box to the house and now only the top oven works?

You will probably find that the element for the lower oven has expired. They sometimes do go in a shower of sparks. I once had an element on a hob explode in my face and a small lump of red hot metal flew up and just missed me.
It is easy to get to the circulatin fan and element, you just have to remove the 4 self tapping screws in each corner of the fan/element cover for the cover to come off. If the element has burnt out as you say you should see some evidence of burn marks/holes on the element.
The bad news is that you will have to take the whole oven out of the housing to remove its top and back to gain access to the element retaining nuts and the wiring to unclip/reclip it.
Try espares for a replacement element and if it was a major bang when it went, you should consider replacing the thermostat as well as this is often damaged by the element going.
(The thermostat is the long thin metal rod in the top right hand corner of the oven and is connected to the control by a very thin fragile pice of wire - be careful)!

Display works but no lights on either oven and no fan

If the display is flashing, it sounds like the timer needs resetting
U need to refer to your instuctions on how to do this..
If it does it again once u have reset it, then I suspect that the oven element has blown..
Pls leave feedback.
Thanks.

Unplug your power cord from the socket outlet.
remove the back cover where the power cord connection is housed. visually check the connection, expose wire harness might touches the cover somehow. or the cover was dent that causes the bare wire to touched the cover. correct the dent if any, or tighen loose wire.assemble back cover. Reset your circuit breaker to your Stove because the pop sound might trip off your breaker. That should solve the problem.
