Question about Panasonic KX-T7730 Corded Phone

Strange functioning Caller ID

We just installed a Panasonic Hybrid system phone at a client's home - 5 wired (KX_T7736) plus 3 cordless (KX-TD7896) and everything works fine - except the caller id does not work correctly. Some example; calls to the number appear on the display - but do not remain in the log, one phone scrolls the CID log in ascending order - the other in descending order,  the CID log has a 999 number capacity - but the phone only stores about 20 numbers.

Tech support had no idea - does anyone have a suggestion on how to solve this problem?

Thank you!

Re: Strange functioning Caller ID

This is a long shot but worht asking, have you ever defaulted the system? You should default the system before installation and programming to clear out any bad data. If the system is brand new and the memory battery never turned on previously this would not be an issue.

Just bought KX-TGD225 phone system and can't get the caller Id function to work even though I subscribe to caller ID with the phone company. The talking caller ID works but no display on the phone

Please call your phones service provider, they may charge for this service. Just because the phone is capable of caller ID function doesn't mean it is a free service.

How do I intergrate a KX-TD 7896 into existing phone system?

Take one of the existing extensions on the system and listen with a normal telephone if you get Dial tone...Then if you do Plug in your Cordless phone and listen if you do get it then... If not..most probably the cordless is faulty.

I can't get my KX-TD7896 cordless phone to pickup signal on my KX-TAw848 PBX system. Is it compatiable with the pbx system

It's a cordless phone and it requires a port and a base if that's what you're asking. It's not a "cell" station.

This is the info from the users manual, it seems a bit strange,
but claims if you set the number of rings before it answers, (for the answering system) to "2" it will stop the audible caller ID.
Here it is from the manual.

If you turn on the answering system
and set the number of rings “2” (page
38), the unit does not announce the
caller information. If “Toll saver” is
selected and there is a new message,
the unit does not announce the caller
When you receive a call while on the
phone, the 2nd caller’s name is not
announced even if you subscribe to
both Caller ID and Call Waiting with
Caller ID services

Caller ID

To use caller Id, you will first have to subscribe to caller Id service from the phone company, unless the phone is part of an office system
