How to fix LT2815u gateway notebook that will not start normally

When the system boots, go in to the setup of the BIOS. Looks for a "return to default settings" option and select it. Then see if the notebook boots normally.

Black Gateway screen Help

I had a problem starting up from the black screen. I went the route of restoring the laptop not know of a possible "common" problem. The following is what I used for my system restore to get my laptop running, perhaps by following the steps to change the bios it might also fix your problem. If anything it doesn't hurt to try at this point.

URL: http://forums.techguy.org/hardware/582490-freezing-during-full-system-restore.html

do these steps to disable SpeedStep in the BIOS Setup Utility and then run System Restore again on your computer.
1. Turn on the computer and begin pressing the F2 key in one-second intervals. If you perform this step correctly, you see the BIOS Setup Utility menu. If Windows loads normally, repeat this step.

2. In the BIOS Setup Utility, press the RIGHT ARROW key to select the Advanced menu.

3. On the Advanced menu, change the Intel SpeedStep setting from Enabled to Disabled.

4. Press the RIGHT ARROW key to select the Exit menu.

5. On the Exit menu, select Save Changes and Exit

6. Restart the computer and run System Restore.

7. After completing the restore, download and install the Critical Update for Windows XP (KB885626) package from the Microsoft Web site.

8. Once the KB885626 package is installed, re-enable Intel SpeedStep in the BIOS Setup Utility.

I have a Linksys Wireless G WRT54G Router version 5 and I lost my setup disk and cannot access the internal web based setup and Iv done everything Iv read to do and now its not even showing up as a...

Hi there. No need to run the setup CD. Check the IP address first to see if the computer is communicating with the router. Go to command prompt (if XP, simply click start then go to run and type in CMD and hit ok. A black screen will pop up. Type in IPCONFIG then enter. Check the IP address and default gateway (by default, the router's IP is 192.168.1.1 which will show as the default gateway). Launch internet explorer and type in the default gateway on the address bar. (No www). If you cant pull out the page. Go back to the black screen (START>RUN>CMD) and type in ping (default gateway) ex. ping 192.168.1.1 there is a space between ping and the default gateway. If you got 4 replies you should be able to access the router's page if not, reset the router by pressing and holding the reset button of the router (usually it is the red hole at the back of the router along with the ethernet ports) for 30 seconds. After 30 sec, power off the router (unplug at the back)never release the reset button and wait another 30 sec then plug the power back in and wait another 30 sec before releasing the reset button. You should be able to access the page then. Go back to the black screen (START>RUN>CMD) then do again a ping test. type in again ping and then the default gateway. (ex. ping 192.168.1.1). You should be able to access the setup page now.

Gateway t 1625 laptop not booting

If u can, try to reformat it, reason i say this simple solution is because u already had the laptop looked at professionally, and due to you're laptop being stuck at the windows screen, i see this happen on HDD swaps a lot. The HDD needs to be repair-formatted or fully reformatted to talk to the new mobo when switched out, try this if all else fails, i personally think giving this simple solution may fix the boot up issue, but do make sure ur friend who looked at your laptop hadn't reset ur C MOS and may of not reconfigured it, this may also be the main cause of boot up troubles so make sure everything looks fine in ur BIOS. Gabriel will have a more proper solution than this but i believe by doing this it may help u bypass ur loading issue
