Question about Gateway Computers & Internet
My laptop is stuck on setup is starting services screen..ive tried rebooting and all, still cant manage to get past this screen
I would press F8 just before it boots to get into safe mode. From there the issue should be apparent.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Seems you have OS (first guess) problem so if you have recovery disk then insert it in DVD/CD driver and reboot your laptop.
And follow the instructions appeared on sreen and when you reach installation mode choose repair one if you wanna repair OS otherwise choose fresh Installation.
once you are done you should be good to go and if you have Hardware problems then your system will show the bugs on screen during installation period.
oh! if you have any external drives (Thumb drive, Ipod) plugged in then remove before you start above procedure because due to external drives also it happens if you dont have any plugged in external drives then follow the above procedure.
Thank you and post back if any thing changes.

SOURCE: my IBM t30 wont boot up
Use Knoppix to save your data if you need to, otherwise it sounds like you may need to reinstall the OS.
ftp://ftp.uni-kl.de/pub/linux/knoppix/KNOPPIX_V5.1.0CD-2006-12-30-DE.iso (to download Knoppix 5)
You could try using the recovery console, as previously mentioned as well. If you don't need to save data, just blow it all away and reinstall XP.
RESOLUTION loadTOCNode(1, 'resolution'); If it be the connector cable problem then replace the 40-wire cable with an 80-wire UDMA cable.
If it's a BIOS settings problem then load the 'Fail-Safe' default settings, and then reactivate the most frequently used options such as USB Support.
If it's a damaged file system case then:-
1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.
Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.
2.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
3.If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.
4.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
5.At the command prompt, type chkdsk /r , and then press ENTER.
6.At the command prompt, type exit , and then press ENTER to restart your computer.
This takes a bit longer, but the system should boot back into Windows.

SOURCE: Cant log in to Toshiba A300-1J1
What I would suggest is logging on in safe mode and trying to restore it to an earlier date using system restore. likely the profile is corrupted. By doing a restore back about 4 to 7 days , or before this started happening, will likely fix your issue. If not you will have to purchase the restore cd from toshiba or restoring it from a recovery partition if it has one.
