Question about Optoma MovieTime DV10 Multimedia Projector
My DV10 has stopped working. When I plug it in, the Lamp and Temp lights blink faintly but no fan, no power up procedure, nothing. I tried plugging into a different wall to ensure it was not a socket problem. I tried a different power cord to rule that out as well. I even tried replacing the lamp to no avail. This unit has been rarely used with about 30 hours on the bulb, but was bought back in 2006. Any idea what it could be?
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

1 of 2 things happened here. Either the power supply is spent or your lamp ballast is busted. In either case it would have to be opened and repaired professionally. may cost upwards of a new projector, so look around for a decent shop and have them test it. If you dont mind me asking, if you decide to get rid of it would you mind selling me the lamp cheaply. Doesnt matter if its burn out, just need the glass from the bulb if its not broken. Hope i helped.

There is a stuffed 10v 3300uf capacitor on the power board. You need to replace it.
Bellow you can check in the picture where the capacitor is located.
Notice that in this picture I have already took the bad capacitor out and replaced with two small cords to reach the bottom and test the new capacitor.
To reach this place is not fast, several layers of plastic and metal must be removed, but is not a hard task to take the capacitor out and replace it for another.
It works just great! Now it is back on track with awesome image.
