The thermostat probably reached the set temp, but maybe the pilot lite blew out. Or the control needs to be replaced.

SOURCE: pilot light won't stay lit.

Make sure the pilot has a shield around it. Also check for drafts in the area.

SOURCE: pilot will not stay lit.

Remove the thermocouple and clean the threaded end carefully.
Then screw it back in and try it.
If it continues to extinguish, replace the thermocouple.

Tip

I have a standing pilot that wont stay lit.

If you have a standing pilot that wont stay lit and you have to keep relighting it, it can only be a couple of things that will do this.
1. Try tighting the thermocouple at the gas valve. (this is a thin copper line that goes from the gas valve and goes to the pilot light.)
2. Make sure that the tip of the thermocouple is in the pilot light flame.
3. Make sure that the thermocouple is clean.

if you have done these and it still doesnt stay lit, buy a new thermocouple.

Why wont my everdure gas heater stay alight

Some heaters have to be "warmed up" by holding the button down for approx. 30 seconds after it lights. These are ones with whats called a "thermocouple". The thermocouple has to remain a certain temp. or the unit will shut off. If the thermocouple goes bad, it can be replaced

Hi, I have a pentair minimax 250 pool heater and the burners will not stay lit. The pilot stays lit but burners will not kick in. I have it jumpered on the gas valve to heat the pool but I feel very...

first of all dont jumper the gas valve! if the pilot stayson and the burners wont fire there a a few reasons for that. one of your safeties are open.....malfunctioning potentiometer ( tstat control)......or theres a short or voltage drop through the circuit. ur pilot generator should have around 400 dc millivolts. if you follow the path in the circuit and anything drops to the 200dc mark then theres a problem. make sure ur electrical connectors are tight. millivolt models are garbage, as it takes very little to interupt the circuit

Gas dryer wont stay lit . does light when first starting, but goes out after about 2 minutes

Well it is supposed to go out after 2 minutes and go on and off all throughout the cycle. Let me guess: it works goes off then NEVER comes back on? Oopz. LOL That is a common problem and easily remedied. All of the components in the dryer work because when it is cool the fire comes on but when its hot it don't. The problem lies with those pesky operator coils on the gas valve assembly. They get hot and quit then take fifty forevers to cool off and work some more. Seen it e93acf9.jpg

Sears kenmore gas dryer 417.92052101does not stay lit.

Watch the burner assembly, shortly after starting the dryer the ignitor should begin to glow. If it glows for several seconds (up to 15 seconds) and then goes out, then the problem is probably the solenoids (coils). If the ignitor glows and stays on, then the problem is usually the flame sensor.
