Hello dreww1005,

If your alternator and battery are in good condition, you probably don't need a capacitor. At maximum output, the 801S will need to draw a little over 30 amps at 12.8V. The specifications call for 8-gauge power and ground wiring and a 40A primary fuse. The Vibe's electrical system should be able to handle it OK.

Hope this helps.

1991 toyota tercel std... Is the stock battery n alternator enough for three rockford fosgate p300.2 amps? Wondering if I just need capacitor or heavy duty battery and or high power alternator? Thanks

Those amps draw 300 watts RMS at best. So a 900 watts total load will be fine on the stock charging system. All three amps will never be drawing max power for a significant amount of time anyway. Just make sure you run 4 gauge of thicker power wire to the amps to minimize power loss. Use the same size ground also.

Good Luck

I have a Punch 800a2 amp and tommorrow im getting the Polk Audio db1222. so my question is do i need a different amp or should this be sufficiant. 12" 2 Ohm db Series Subwoofer Power Handling: Peak:...

Not sure if you are getting two subs or single?

Anyways, amp is rated at 800 watts and probably under rated so it will push sub. Remember that you don't need to worry about max power, rather focus on RMS power rating.

I have one 12inch 1000 watt mtx sub what size amp should i buy

Hello taona80,

If the 1,000 watts is RMS, I'd recommend an amp in the 750-1,000 watt RMS range, perhaps like the Alpine MRP-M1000 or Rockford-Fosgate T1000bd. If the 1,000 watts is peak power, the subs continuous (RMS) power handling is much lower, probably 300-400 watts. In that case, I'd recommend the Alpine MRP-M500 or Rockford-Fosgate T500-1bd.

I installed a sony 600watt amp and it works but old rockford fosgate 200 hit harder how do i make my amp louder and evenly spread throughout my car

Hello jmanbutt99,

The old Rockford-Fosgate was probably producing the rated power. The Sony is most likely overrated. But, it's supposed to be stable on each individual channel down to 2 ohms and will deliver 65 watts RMS into that load. So to get the most from it, your best bet would be a pair of 4 ohm speakers paralleled to each channel. A relatively efficient speaker like the Kicker 07DS600's shown here should provide pretty good sound.

These will work with as little as 6 watts RMS and can handle up to 50 watts RMS so the Sony should power them really well. They're 4 ohm so a pair in parallel will present a 2 ohm load.

Hope this helps

Rockford Punch HE2 wiring question.

if your sub will handle it, bridging it will give you more power. The best thing to do is to find out how much power the amp puts out ( RMS ) and if it is in your power handling range bridge it. It sounds better and gives you a harder punch because of more power.

Rockford Fosgate 501bd question

that amp should work fine with those speakers, just make sure that they(speakers)are wired for 2 ohms.at 500-600watts coming from amp, you should be getting 250-300 watts per speaker, just dont crank your gain too high on the amp.
