Question about HP iPAQ hw6515 Pocket PC

View of internet page is incomplete

The main function that I use is connecting to the internet to check my e-mail while travelling.  This means that I go to the webmail site of my internet provider, and look at my e-mail from the server-I download it all later when I am back to my computer.  This worked fine until I changed my interent provider.  I now use (this is in Italy) .  I have no problem with this process from a computer, but when using the HP IPAQ, the spaces with the icons where I have to fill in the user name, passwrod and click enter, simply do not appear on the internet page.  I have tried to visualize the page in a differrnt manner- default, column or desktop, but the section is still not visible.  I also made sure cokies were turned on and I changed the size of the tex, but still nothing.  So, the HP IPAQ has suddenly become useless for this important task.  Any ideas?? Thanks!

Perform a soft reset of the device. Make sure it is a soft reset, as a hard one would lose all data.

I believe there should be a reset button on the back. Check your manual to be sure.

That would take care of the opera crash.

As far as the site is concerned, there is not much we can do. It is Java based, and if you dont have java support installed on the Pocket PC, you would not be able to use the site properly.

Contact the company and see if they have an alternate low-fi address you can use. Or if they can give you the server info to setup the actual account on the PocketPC without using IE.

If not, then you might want to consider changing companies.

Re: view of internet page is incomplete

Ok so your ipaq uses Pocket Internet explorer.  Pocket IE is based off ie 5 if I remember correctly, so it's a bit outdated.

This is what I would try first.  Simply try to move over to using Pocket Opera instead of IE.  Yes it's technically a fix of the errors your having, but it's a work around that you should try for sure.  Opera is well updated and adds a ton of features that Pocket IE doesn't have, and it displays pages in larger screens than IE can usually.

you can download it here...

Download the .cab if you are browing from the phone, download the .msi if you are downloading on a computer and installing through usb cable sync.

Now our other option is to try changing the user agents in Pocket IE to trick pages into thinking your using IE 6.  Try using pocket opera first, I have to personally use opera on my phone for a few sites, it's just an issue I have to deal with.

Please reply back and let me know if this works, if not we can go from there and try the user agent changing.

I hope this has explained your question in detail. If I've helped you please don't forget to rate me.

I can not figure out how to connect my device to the internet Wi-Fi, I want to go on internet explorer and it won't connect

To send and receive e-mail with Inbox and view Web sites with Pocket Internet Explorer, set up a remote connection using a modem card or an Ethernet/LAN card.
To connect to the Internet with a modem card, you need a phone line, a dial-up Internet Service Provider, and an optional Single-slot or Dual-slot PC Card Expansion Pack or CompactFlash (CF) Card Expansion Pack.
*Insert your modem card
*From the Start menu, tap Settings
*Tap the Connections tab->Connections Icon-->Internet Settings-->Modify-->New
*Enter a name for the connection, select the modem type, and select the correct baud rate for that modem.

Hp pocket pc.Travel companion,turns on,but can't view anything

I don't know how long you've had that unit. So the question is have you done any updates on it since you've had it.

An update most likely will fix most problems.

Follow this link to get to your devices' support page. It would be a good idea to bookmark it and register so they can send you any needed update alerts for your iPaq.

Do you mean the internet explorer closes on you and you see the home page of the dash?

- Sounds like a corrupted file or issues with IE.
- are you viewing java script pages?

- I would do a master reset just in case. Just make sure to back up your phone first.

Dear Phil,
its mean you have to update the GPRS Service.

there are 2 ways to downlaod the files, GPRS or internet
1. click on the quick gps connetion icon, select setting.
2. select setting, then check the enable update and initial GPRS
3. click on icon and select download, it will connect to date service and download the files.

step 1 and 2 above
3. click icon select download while it on cradle.

also install the quick gps utility on pc, and add the quick qps connection into activesync list. each time you synchronize PDA the file will get updated.

For your second problem ,which is related to File Passward protections , its seems you had create these Worksheets on NTFS File system thatswhy they asked about the passward.
