Marcus,
What you're describing is convergence and the amps need to be replaced... IK04 and Ik05 are two STK392-110 and Hitachi suggests replacing them with the STK392-150's for greater reliability..
If you're not too capable in electronics this is one to leave for the professionals. But at least you can call around and ask what each shop charges for replacing the convergence amps in this unit...
Hope this helps.

you will need to replace the convergence IC's and some resistors in the convergence circuit. the IC's are STK392-150. if you don't have any experience in TV repair then have a tech repair this for you. you may pay as much as $325.00 for the repair. I'm sending you the service manual so that you can arm yourself to those who may take advantage of you. this 18mb manual I hope it reaches you.

You have a problem with teh convergence circuits. This can be caused either by defective convegence ICs or even bad connections at the pins of these ICs. I would first resolder the pins on the ICs. If that fails, replace them. That should resolve the problem. These ICs are large and black, attached to a heatsink and are marked STKxxx. There should be 2 of them.

I have an hitachi 62vs69a that has blue streaks on the side with a yellow tint? how do i fix it?

BLUE STREAKS AND YELLOW TINT describes almost perfectly a bad optical light engine--no do it yourself repair and engine is well over 600 dollar part exchange.

The shutdown may or may not be related but it does not matter--time for another (in my view) TV.
