My plasma has just developed 2 black vertical bars one on the very LHS and one in the middle am I correct in saying it is the C2 board that has failed and ordering 2 of these boards LHS and RHS will clear this problem, has anyone had this repaired under the sales of goods act as it seems to be a common fault, thanks
If vertical lines are displayed to plasma displays, the fault should be with COF boards. These units can be located at the bottom side of the screen [in a row]. If its connection to panel become loose, this type of fault can occur, and is my experience. Check all the COF connections first. See whether IC used on each COF is damaged or not. You can't check it by using a multimeter; only can do a visual-test, whether there is any break or small holes on this IC. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has screen-shots to fault plasma displays. You can note it, and compare to that of your TVs' screen, and make sure about the fault.
