How do I turn off internal speakers in Haier L55B2181 TV?

The only time the internal speakers are disabled is if you have headphones plugged into that 3.5 mm jack. So the internal speakers will be disabled if you use any computer speakers that use only the computer audio out jack or headphones. You may be able to use a 3.5 mm to RCA audio adapter and the related cables to use other speakers in the same way. (The adapter could be 3.5 mm M to RCA F/F and a RCA audio cable to the speaker control (receiver) or 3.5 mm F to RCA M/M and a 3.5 mm audio cable. The difference will be in where you plug in the adapter.) For other external audio options, your only choice is to manually reduce the speaker volume to low. See page 6 of the manual; page 16 confirms the fact that there is no option to disable the speakers in the OSD menu. The manual is available online here: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/418427/Haier-L55b2181.html . (In this file, the relevant pages are 9 and 18.)

I hope this helps.

Internal speakers are disabeled. Extearnal speakers work just fine

Headphone jack may be faulty as there is a contact that tells the uProcessor that the socket is in use and turns the internal speakers off. If the contacts are tarnished, they might not be opperating correcty.

To disable internal speaker in hp6000 pc

The internal speaker should be disabled when you plug in external speakers.
If not go to Start > Control Panel > Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices
> Pick a task.......>Change the speaker settings >Audio tab.

[ Note* An internal speaker can be used for the BIOS Beep Codes. If it is this speaker should not be disabled.
BIOS Beep Codes are the way the computer tells you something is wrong, and an area to look into, for it ]

Hey, I've got an HP Compaq D530 SFF desktop machine whose sound card uses the SoundMAX drivers. The problem is that when I connect earphones/headphones on the front panel, and try to listen to music or...

if you go to the bios (restart computer and press del to go to setup) you should be able to look around and find the option for internal speaker. Set that option to disable and do not change anything else unless you know your way around. Save it and restart afterwards and it should disable the internal speakers.

The sound goes off intermittently

Forget Sharp's defective speakers. Connect your sound output to powered stereo speakers and disable the internal speakers (look through the TV's menu). The operator's manual explains how to disable the internal speakers. You'll be able to control the sound normally (mute, volume) with a remote control.
I connected my stereo output (2 RCA plugs) to an old boom-box and I get better sound than with Sharp's built-in speakers.

Sound is working but internal speaker is not working

Connecting headphones to the system will disabled the internal speakers until the headphone jack is disconnected, at which such time the internal speakers should function again.

If you disconnect the headphones and the internal speakers are not re-activated, then there may be damaged to the microswitch in the jack. (Try rebooting after the headphones are disconnected too)
