Question about Acer AL2016W 20" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

LCD Monitor does not start up with PC

Acer AL2016W LCD

when I start my PC the monitor ( which works fine after I managed to start up) does not immediately start up.
I have to restart the PC and with good timing I first switch off the monitor - Turbo start the PC switch on the monitor and with luck the monitor starts up.
often I have to repeat this for several times.

    GC: NVIDEA GeForce 8500 GT

I manage to start the monitor after a while.

the light switch on the monitor is yellow first when I start the pC it supposed to turn green and start.

But now it stays yellow, thus is seems they do not make contact on his own.

Is ACER al2016W monitor dual-voltage?

Voltage Required AC 120/230 V

Yes Bob, you can use it in UK 240V and I believe no adjustments required since they are swithed mode power supplies.

Just to make sure have look at the data label at the back of the monitor it should say AC 120/230V. UK 240 is OK since there is a +/- 10% variation allowed on that.

I got the information out of the specifications on line, so you should be OK.

Does not start up with PC

Good morning! kindly review / check again the power / cable connections of your monitor to PC, as it might be loose, especially cable into the VGA connector/adapter. If still not operating, we may try to review the set-up settings of the monitor based on Operations Manual that commonly included when we purchased the unit. best regards

Computer won't recognize monitor driver

Its the usb, if u connect the monitor via the standard port, the vga port, it will work. If your monitor only have an dvi cable you can fix that by an adapter. That adapter should be an DVI to VGA.

Good luck to you

Monitor lcd acer al2016w 20" letters and image are fuzzy,,why?

I also have an Asrock motherboard (M266A) and have the AL2216W. The image and text is also fuzzy. I did improve it a by by unplugging/replugging all of the connectors on the back of the computer. I believe my mouse had a somewhat loose connection and this was causing interference. I can actually create interference on screen by moving my mouse up and down.
These Acer monitors seem to be very sensitive. I also tried this monitor on a old Desktop with Win98 and another new laptop with XP and it looks good on those computers, but not on my Asrock based system.
