Question about Acer Aspire Timeline X 4820t-6447 Core I5 2.66ghz 14.0" Led Display 4gb/640gb
I have just booted up my laptop and put in a DVD, but nothing happened. Autoplay hasn't run, and the CD drive appears to have disappeared from 'Computer'. I've had this problem before and have previously solved it with the old 'switch-on-switch-off' routine, but that hasn't worked this time. I have previously watched this DVD with no problems, and the drive was working perfectly the last time the laptop was on (less than 24 hours ago) Under 'Device Manager' the driver seems to be enabled, says its working fine and doesn't need any updates. I don't know if it's relevant but one thing that I have noticed - when looking at the properties of the device it says it is set to region 1, whereas I am region 2. I haven't changed this myself previously, and it won't let me change it now. Any advice much appreciated :)
Please check for "Auto play" option [by typing 'auto' on the search space just above the Start button] and chech for enable/disable as required by you on cd/dvd drive and save it[Please disable it for "removeable drives" to save your computer from 'autorun virus'. 1. Disconnect the optical drive from your laptop, 2. Update thechipset+USBhost drivers from the Acerwebsite 3.reconnect it restart it and try Good Luck!

Try to reseat the camera cable, it's under keyboard. ussualy it will work. If after reseat camera cable, it still doesn't show in device manager, your orbicam might be bad.

you have chosen the wrong driver, go to the link below and choose orbicam (logitech) not the Bison one

There may be a bent connector on one of the USB ports or a defective USB controller on the motherboard. The bluetooth connector may not have been reconnected or the bluetooth module was not reinstalled after service. Sadly you will need to have it serviced again. They most likely will not replace it it with a new laptop, but maybe a refurbished one. You could push for a warranty extension for amount of time the system has been due to need of repair. Good Luck.

In the device manager, select the DVD ROM and UNINSTALL / REMOVE the device. Restart Windows . . . did this work? If not, boot into your CMOS and see if the drive is being detected by the motherboard... if yes, look further and make sure the settings for the drive are correct. Make sure that all IDE interfaces are enabled in the CMOS settings (both)
