My Epson Artisan 835 paper cassette is not set correctly. Details are to follow.

There is a switch that senses when the paper cassette is installed correctly. The switch may have failed in some way that prevents it from closing. You may have to replace the switch to get the machine working again.

Cycle not working properly

Hi.

When problem is in the spin part of the cycle it is usually because of either drain filter blockage, siphoning because of incorrect setting of the drain hose at the back, or because of a defective pressure switch.

Check the drain filter, check the setting of the drain hose at the back; clean the rubber hose attached to the pressure switch and eventually replace the pressure switch.

Most washers hide a copy of the service tech sheet inside the control panel assembly, tucked in a sealed envelope. If you retrieve the tech sheet you can also run the diagnostic cycle illustrated in the document.

My washer has just started to leave about an inch of water in the bottom of the tub after the cycle is complete, leaving my clothes soaking wet. How do I get the water out?

Hi.

The problem is either caused by a drain system fault or by a defective pressure switch.

Check that height and setting of drain hose at the back are correct. If the hose is not set correctly (check manual), then water will flow back inside the appliance. The problem is called siphoning.

Make sure there is no drain system blockage. Inefficient drain because of blockage results in soaked water. Check hose connected to pump located at the base of the washer.

Check and eventually replace the pressure switch. The pressure switch detects water level and determines when to stop the spin part of the cycle. The pressure switch is located in control assembly, near to control module. Clean the long rubber hose connected to the switch.

Inside the control assembly look also for an envelope containing the tech sheet. The document will contain the instructions to run diagnostic cycle in this model. Run a diagnostic cycle.

Whirlpool Duet, F02 code. Filter is clean, pump has great volume, pressure switch tube is clean, flex tube ball is free. Some times the machine will just stop, no code with the display flashing.

F02 Long Drain If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and F02 is flashed.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

NOTE: After 4 minutes the "Sud" error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.

Potential Causes

• Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked
• Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
• Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects
• If the above does not correct the problem replace the pump

Check both the drain hose at the back (check height setting and look for blockage), and make sure you have checked the drain filter (access door in front bottom side in front loaders- Bottom side or back in top loaders).

If the drain filter and hose are OK, next step will be checking the pressure switch. The pressure switch is the sensor that detects water level, deciding when to start/stop drain pump and when to advance to spin. When the pressure switch is clogged or defective the machine may not drain or spin. The pressure switch is located in control assembly and looks like a kind of plastic disk with 4 or 3 contacts and with a long thin rubber hose connected to the switch. Clean the rubber hose and replace the switch if that does not work. While disassembling the control panel check also if tucked inside the control assembly you find the envelope with the tech sheet. The tech sheet will describe the diagnostic procedure that may be useful to find out what the problem is.

Pressure switch is a common fault causing drain problems . If the problem was not the pressure switch next step would be reading volts while machine is cycling to test control module and pump. For safety reason I suggest the users only performing tests and maintenance that can be done with power not-connected.

Envelope jam HP Officejet 8500

Hi,

Try to print envelope through Microsoft Word

Steps:-

1) Click Tools , click Letters and Mailings and then click Envelopes and Labels .
2) Type the Delivery and Return address information.
3) Click Options .
4) On the Envelope Options tab, set the following options:-
  • Envelope size : set to match the loaded envelopes.
  • US only : if desired, select the Delivery point barcode to make it easier for mail sorting machinery to correctly route the envelope.
  • Return address : for Size 10 envelopes only, set the Return Address position .8 inch in the From left section.
5) Select the Printing Options tab and verify that the following settings are selected:
  • Select the Feed Method option that shows the envelope on the far right side with the short edge first.
  • Select Face down .
  • Examine the selected feed method image and verify that the envelope flap is on the left side of the envelope. If it is on the right, select or deselect Clockwise rotation.
6) Click OK and then click Print .

As envelop can not feed correctly every time, it depends on the weight, flap design, paper type and other factors & cause jam, To prevent those you can do.
  • Print envelopes at a higher quality setting so envelope is pulled through the unit more slowly. e.g:- Switch fast to slow mode or slow to best mode.
  • Tuck the flap inside the envelope before loading it into the printer.

Have a nice day...don't forget to rate the solution.

Machine flashing load paper message even though paper is loaded

Hi ...

Most of the time this problem comes when the paper is not loaded correctly. Follow the below instructions to load papers to the cassette and I am sure this will resolve your problem. I will keep monitoring your responce and if required, i'll look for a work arround.

Follow this procedure to load paper / envelope in the cassette:
  1. Pull out the cassette from the machine.

  2. Remove the cover from the cassette.

  3. Fan out the sheets of paper so that they do not stick together.

  4. Align the edges of the paper.

  5. If the cassette is not yet extended, use your thumb to press the tab (indicated by the pink circular outline) and release the latch.

  6. After the latch is released, remove your thumb from the tab. Then extend the cassette until a click is heard.

  7. Load paper on the upper-right corner of the cassette with the print side facing down.

    Note:
    * Since the Credit Card sized paper, Canon Photo Stickers, and Legal sized paper cannot be fed from the cassette, load them in the auto sheet feeder (ASF).
    * When loading A5 or larger sized paper (nonstandard-size paper: 203mm / 8inches or more in length), extend the cassette by pinching the tab.

  8. Grasp the paper guide (A) and align it to the long edge of the envelope stack (2). Align the front edge of the paper stack in the same way (3).

  9. Close the lid and push the cassette all the way into the printer.

  11. Press the <Feed Switch> button to turn on the Cassette light.

Brother MFC-9840CDW wrinkles envelopes. Brother says this is "normal", and that the only way to 'fix' it is to open the back of the printer EVERY TIME YOU PRINT AN ENVELOPE and make some kind of...

Problem Solved!

I have a Brother MFC-8480 DN all in one printer, copier, fax and scanner.

I discovered that envelopes wrinkle because users, like me, didn't know that Brothers built in a no-wrinkle, pass through exit for envelopes, labels and thick paper.

Envelopes were never to be printed by inserting them in the front and letting them wrap around a HOT roller and get cooked and wrinkled. The way it works:

An envelope is inserted in the front and goes straight out the back of the printer through an exit door, completely avoiding the hot roll-through mechanism.

Take a look. On the back of the machine is a large pass through exit door. Just snap it open. You will see one blue lever on each side of the opening. Snap them both straight down to the . . .ta da. . ."envelope icons".

Put three envelopes in the front and they will print straight out the back, perfect and wrinkle free. After printing your envelopes, snap the blue levers back up and shut the door. Takes about five seconds to open the door and snap down the blue levers down/up.

Happy envelope printing.

-Eric
