Pioneer AVH-P4100 Ipod Video not playing

I have a Pioneer AVA-P4100 and when i connect it, audio files play fine but when i select video playlist they will not play. The black screen comes up and no sound plays either. The cord has a usb port on the end and i plug my ipod cable into it and all music and artwork show up fine but no video. Any help or suggestions?

You have to set up the AUX output.
1. Touch the source icon and then touch "OFF" to turn the unit off.
(The unit will be in demo mode)
2. Touch the screen to display the touch panel keys.
3. Touch AV Menu you should see "Inital Menu" and touch it.
4. Touch AUX 1 on the inital menu to select desired setting.
5. Touch it until Ipod is selected (make sure you have the CD-IU200V connected.
6. Touch ESC. Ipod video should work now.
7. See Page 50 in Operation Manual for more information.

You need a specific Ipod cable for video playback to work. Model # CD-IU200V. The standard ipod cable does not have the speed(throughput) to send audio AND video at the same time. Hope this helps.

The problem starts after the atualization of the iPod software.

You need to ground your video port to a taggle switch and turn it on, it acts the same as a dvd and wont allow any video unless the "Ebreak" is on, run a switch for that and you should be good.

My iPod used to play video on the 4100 ... no more... and I cannot get to work again. I don't have the cable mentioned in this thread... But like I said it used to work. Maybe one of the Firmware updates made a change???

Not getting any sound from my i-pod Pioneer AVH-P4050DVD

I had the same problem with my Pioneer AVH-P4050DVD

Radio and CD worked fine

DVD would play and I could hear the audio but no video

USB and iPod. It would connect and I could brouse, select and play songs but I would not get any audio even though I could see the track playing, finnishing and moving on to the next one (very frustrating).

Front Aux (Aux 1). I could turn this port on to audio, select it and plus an audio sorce in but no audio would come out.

The solution..
The Pioneer AVH-P4050DVD is odd and different from most other pioneeres in that it has two earth leads that both need to be grounded (2 in addition to the handbreak wire). I had insalled my unit using a toyota - pioneer wireing adaptor I bought from Repco. This adaptor only grounded the wire coming from the corner of the plug (opposite the battery wire). The second earth is located becide the first earth, opposite the ignition wire. If you google pioneer 16 pin wiring diagram it might call this pin BGSENS (pin 13 in the attached photo). With the wireing harness I had this pin was not connected to anything. Once I grounded the second earth (soldered directly to the first earth) everything worked.

Good luck. Hope that helps.

I have an Avh-p4100 and the IU200V cable. My DVD was playing the videos, but now it simply doesn´t play videos anymore. The cable´s plug is right conected back the DVD, and in the initial menu,...

Try resetting the unit using a pen. While powered on, click the reset button and this should resolve your problem. If it doesn't the problem maybe related to parking brake cable not being connected properly.

Ipod will not play video to my head unit AVH P5900DVD

ok for the first post with the ipod not showing video .. make sure that you have the correct cable running from behind the deck to the ipod .. (iPod Direct Control (CD-I200 Required) once you have that connected you need to go to the video settings of your ipod and turn on the video out .. by default its offf... also remember with movies on your ipod .. that has to be manually selected from the ipod itself .. you cant control the videos from the pioneer unit.. only the audio/music on your ipod can be selected from the pioneer unit..

you have to get an iPod cable that gives you RCA outputs. Just connect the RCA outputs from the iPod to the AUX inputs on the unit. I believe that should do it. Ebay sells the iPod cables, and most electronics stores should as well
