I cannot get my daughter's Discovery Kids mp3 player to work at all. I plug it into the computer and it turns on and I can get the music to play that came with it, but I can't find a program that comes...

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

How to copy music from a cd to my digital mp3 boombox

You should have a usb port that will allow you to hook it up to your computer where you can then trasfer the cd from your computer onto the boom box. Use windows media player, quicktime or a comparable music player to transfer also which sould convert it to an mp3 type file.

I bought both of my kids the music will not play through the headphones but it will play through the computer when hooked to the usb cord.....any advice?

The MP3 player also acts like a memory storage device, but it cannot play the music files unless the music files are in mp3 file format. The computer can plat music files in several file formats.

My son's digital mp3 boombox is locked. How do we unlock it so we can play the music?

After much frustration, I've figured it out something that works.
Turn the mp3 player off, remove the battery cover, take out the batteries, put them back in, screw the battery cover back on, turn the mp3 player on, press the green play button. You should then see the "welcome" screen.
The boombox has continued to lock up frequently - almost everytime my son plays with the stinkin' thing - but at least I know how to unlock it now.
Good luck :)

Downloading music to the MP3 player

Hiya Tiffany,
A lot of people have been complaining about this particular product. First of all, you have to format the player, but the instruction manual doesn't even mention this..
Plug one into the usb port and wait for it to detect. Then go to My Computer, and right click on the drive and Format.
You should now be able to copy songs over, although Protected mp3's WILL NOT PLAY ON THIS PRODUCT!!!
Unbelievable, I know, in this day and age..
Almost makes you want to download and install Soulseek and download 'normal' versions of the mp3's, doesn't it? Because they will always play in your mp3 player?
So first format the thing. The rest is up to you ;)

Hope this helps ;)
Season's Greetings!

MP3 Player only displays ERROR...won't play music.

Actually, all 3 of my kids received one of these MP3 players. I searched the internet for hours trying to find a solution. I not only found no answer but also found zero reviews about this product. After opening all three players and seeing just how poorly the quality was, I am returning them to the store. I'm not sure what I did but I was able to get 1 (out of 60) song to play. However, I couldn't skip, pause, etc.; it just kept locking up and the sometimes the info.on the screen would disappear. The only way to try again was to remove and replace the battery. I've ordered something different for a little more money but think it will be worth it! My kids are young but this was too cheap of a "first time" MP3 player. I DO NOT recommend this product to anyone - no matter what your budget, you'd be better off to wait until you could afford something else.
