What I do is remove the grates and flame guards and light the burners with a stick lighter then turn em on low and cover them with the flame guards then sit the grates back on there.

While boiling water with low to med flame, the front right burner grate EXPLODED! Burnt hardwood flooring (since grate literally flew thru the air), melted adjacent thermafoil cabinet reveal & burnt MY...

wow never heard of that one.
what if when grate was cast,air bubbles inside of grate were formed,[fluke] and expanded and blew.
try with other grates,but put shield over grate somehow,like chicken wire,and hold on to stove with bricks or stay back.
that sounds like a claim to me.

Heater has blue flame petruding above the grate.

there is a flame adjustment screw that needs to be adjusted
there should be a fuel valve that turns on the gas for the unit inside ofthe unit where the gas line goes in at there should be as a small brass round cover just after this under the cover has a flat tip screwdriver slot
insert the screw driver in it and turn counter clock wise to adjust ok

1600c vanguard propane heater, big flame on middle grate

Make sure the grate is in the holder like the others, and nothing is blocking the bottom of it. They often slip back where the fire misses the inside where it should hit.

Sounds right long as you did the conversion okay did you change the spring in the reg ? lp gas does burn lower than nat gas smaller blue flame . you could see if the aeration can be adjusted to the burners You could also check the pressure at the burners lp working pressure is 14in wg .
You could check the reg outside . That's all I got .
