SOURCE: air conditioner remote

- check if the battery is still good
- check if the receiver of the unit is clean and no obstruction.
- Some of remote control have a reset switch, every time you change it with battery you have to reset it.
- Some of remote control have A and B selector at board and remote control, check this if they set at the same frequency.
- To check if the remote control still working you have to test your remote control to other unit with same model as yours. If its not working then replace your remote control. But if its working then you have to replace your receiver board.
- Some remote control have to be reconfigure so you have to read your manual.

SOURCE: need manual for mpm1-10cr-bb6

The unit shuts off whenever the water tank fills up. It's on the right bottom side, just pull it out and drain the water, when you put it back in the a/c will turn on again.

Haier window ac constant red light? No label next to red light. Turns on and off fine. Cleaned filter, no change. couple years old. Still cools down the room but not as cold as it used to. Help?

Sounds like the unit is just dirty. The AC pulls air through coils and contains dirt, pollen, grease and all type of pollutants. These contaminants will cling to the coils, reducing the AC ability to transfer heat.

Here's a great YouTube video explaining how to properly clean a window AC. How to Clean Window Air Conditioner

AC units should be cleaned every year (including the whole house units), to maintain their ability to cool efficiently.

Snapping noise then quits

Not sure what model yours is, but sounds like you have a bad start capacitor that has dried up or swelled and "snapping" when making connection. If you can give me the Brand and model number I can see what capacitor you need.

My carrier 38ckc036350 is 6 years old. Today the compressor stopped working. The fan outside comes on and every few min i hear an electrical buzz like the compressor is trying to be energized. Are there...

Hi!

It sounds like the capacitor and/or compressor are quitting. Try getting a Start Capacitor of the same uF (I think 35 uF for Commpressor and 5 uF for fan motor) as the one you have, OR get a Start Kit from any AC parts shop for about $10 and hook it up in line with the old capacitor, if you have a two terminal capacitor plug the terminals one, on each end, if you have a 3 terminal called DUAL Capacitor, each terminal is stamped with the words FAN, HERM and the letter C for common, one lead goes in the C terminal and the other one goes on the HERM.

Install it and turn unit ON. Good Luck!! Don't forget to rate this post!!

The unit just stopped working and will not turn on

I'm assuming 'nothing' comes on when you try to run the AC unit. If the fan runs but the AC does not cool then ignore the below info, but if "nothing comes on" then proceed with the below info.

If the breakers are not tripped and you've tried other outlets (on different breakers) I would suspect a faulty switch. You can replace the switch ( If it's not computerized). First unplug the unit from the wall and locate the switch (it will be the one that has the knob that controls "fan, Hi Cool, Lo Cool, etc etc.) then remove the switch - 'being careful to mark all the wires in such a manner you can replace them on the new switch, exactly like they came off the old one.'

Then if you take the switch to an appliance shop and can find/order the 'exact' same switch (or at least a comparable replacement with the same connections as the old one) you could re-install it on the unit, connect your wires back up to the switch and plug it back into the outlet and see if that was your problem.

good luck!

DeLonghi Pinguino PAC CT90 It is less than a year has quit coolin

Read instructions and see if it says anything about cleaning or filters. A.C units **** air in and there is a filter that probably needs cleaned. Also, while cooling, the vent to the outside should put out warm air. Also, if it is less than a year old, contact the manufacturer and they should help you out. Good luck.

I turned on my AC. The compressor sounded like it was straining and the fan wouldn't go on, then compressor went off. But the green powwer light was still on on the plug. I turned it off, unplugged it....

I am guessing it is a window or wall unit right? not central AC? If thats the case, how old is it? New? can u return it? if not, if its older than 4 or 5 years, trash it and get a new one! If the fan isnt working after a few seconds or minutes the compressor will over heat and shut off, its not worth repairing

My AC needs a new 220 cable

If the damage is close to the end of the cable, simply get a replacement plug end from a home repair store and put it on.
Cut the old plug off and install the new plug.
when you go to buy the cord end, take the old one with you so you get the correct configuration.
