Question about Computers & Internet
When switching tv on keeps going onto standby, eventually it then goes onto elonex screen but flicks off again onto standby. This keeps doing this for 10-15 times then eventually works. This is now getting worse sometimes 20 times before this works.Help any solutions?
Sounds like you may have some capacitors going bad. If it is a high end TV it may pay you to take it to a repair shop.

SOURCE: no power off charge
It is evident your Battery is not working - If it is not too far gone which it quite possibly is follow my steps to fix the battery and allow it to hold charge:
1. Remove the battery from your Laptop - In a lot of cases there will be a slider on the bottom side of your laptop that will unlock the battery and allow it to be slid out.
2. Put the battery in a think plastic bag - Alternatively 2 thin plastic bags
3. Place it in the freezer for 30 minutes
4. Remove the Battery and place in in the sun for another 30 minutes
5. Place it back in the freezer for 30 mins
6. Put it out in the sun for 30 minutes then back into your laptop.
7. Leave the battery plugged in to charge
8. Remove the AC Adapter
Please Note: I work full time in the IT field I use this technique to fix batteries that do not hold charge as it puts the energy in stasis and wipes their theoretical memory - It works for laptops with little charge holding capacity but as your's has no charge the probability of it being dead is high under this circumstance I can only recommend attempting to hunt down a replacement battery at your expense;
I sincerely hope this write up has helped you,

You could have a faulty inverter or a CCFL lamp, To determine if you have a LCD screen, inverter or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

My guess is that firmware update failed on Win7. Try the same thing on WinXP. More information available at:
